Platypus Cantina - Bugis

Wanted pulled pork but was told not available even though it’s on menu, had to get burgers were tasteless and dry, no cheese and expensive prices

The food was fabulous, the set lunch was very worth it as well. Only thing was that the waitress got mixed up a little with the orders but that was a small hiccup. All in all, the experience + food was amazing, will totally come back again !

Always enjoy a peaceful lunch at Platypus. Hidden gem in Bugis if you need a quick fix for café food. Highly recommended for the variety of set lunches available in the menu.

Good quality food and nice presentation. Service staff were very friendly and attentive. Would be great if the music was less pop/rock and more classical/jazzy. That being said, it was not too loud so it was still conducive to have a conversation.

the food was good, although serving was slow, which resulted in food arriving less than warm at the table. could be due to the fact that there was only 2 wait staff at dinner service (although they were attentive as two can be for a full restaurant).

Terribly long wait! I ordered the steak which arrived only after nearly all of my colleagues had already finished their mains.

We were a party of three; two of us had the 3-set dinner, the other ordered a Bolognese a la carte. Service at the start was okay, then when it started filling up, it seemed like the staff weren’t able to manage; took a while to get their attention as we’ll a show their follow up. Lastly, we had to rush for a show so couldn’t have our dessert-course. They offered to reimburse us for the two desserts which I initially thought was a nice touch; it was pretty disappointing that they only refunded $3 per dessert. I get that we shouldn’t expect a refund of the full price of the dessert seeing as it’s a set meal, but $3 per dessert?! Overall, tasty but pretty pricey meals (if you don’t order their sets).

Food was served fairly quickly. The truffle fries and mussels are highly recommended! The rib eye was average. The prawn and crab diablo was interesting - make sure you mix the sauce thoroughly thru the noodles The conchigli lasagna was very tasty - pasta just nicely cooked and baked with just the rightcheesiness - was thoroughly enjoyed. Chocolate Lava cake for dessert was a geat choice. Food potions was generous. 3 mains shared amongst 4 was just nice! Great attentive service.

Overall alright, orders were a lil slow to be out from kitchen, same goes for the refill of water. Probably due to the Friday crowd.. Service staff’s attitude was good thou, still smiles despite the hustle and bustle.

I enjoy visiting the restaurant as I feel their ingredient is fresh and the dishes presented brings out the best in the ingredients not dissimilar to Japanese cuisine. I find the service commendable. If you are there do try out the crustacean bowl main course and the crab and ikura starter
