Great atmosphere and staff very friendly. Food is good but I was expected more tasty/qualitative food. I find it a bit pricey for the quality.

Nice quaint restaurant in Tiong Bahru. Ordered the Marinated crab rillette which was a refreshing change from the usual duck rillette. The only downside was that the sourdough bread that came with it was way too hard. Ravioles de Royan is a must try for cheese lovers. It's creamy and yet not too heavy. I really enjoyed this dish. The highly recommended angus beef by fellow diners were unfortunately just a 7/10 for me. It was a little too lean and not juicy enough. But it was well cooked and the sauce didn't overwhelm. Lastly, ordered the strawberry soup for dessert and it was exactly as how you would imagine it to be - a bowl of strawberry juice/puree. Would come back to try their cheeseboards and brunch menu.

We had a wonderful time at Merci Mercel with super attentive staff helping us with recommendations. The crab rilettes were fantastic and the cheese platter to end off the meal is a must!

I think the ambience was great. The wait staff were friendly and pretty attentive. Food was normal. Crab villettea was great! Grilled chicken was nothing out of the extraordinary

Utterly enjoyed my time here. Recommend the 300g Angus beef. A good accessible wine list, ambiance good for date nights and girls night out. For detailed review visit https://afoodielibrarian.com/review-merci-marcel/

Good service - Staff were friendly and respond quickly. Food was acceptable, but just a little salty (e.g. bacon and pasta). Truffle fries was good.

Food was great but the seating area at the back was under the sun during mid day due to the open concept despite being indoors. Hence it got really hot as the aircon wasn’t strong enough.

The food was amazing, in particular the ceviche and the raviole. Portions are small - think tapas size - perfect for sharing. The restaurant interior is very instagrammable. Attentive service, casual vibe. Highly recommended for gathering with friends.

Food, ambience and service were impeccable. Just that I was given a table near the end which was pretty stuffy and hot. I would come again soon.

Lovely ambiance and crab rillettes (but served with insufficient bread and then charged $10 for extra). Chips were the best I've had in Singapore, and the bottle of wine was well priced. Scallops came in a serving of 3 (large and juicy but a bit overpriced), they were beautifully cooked and served with cauliflower puree was rich and delicious. Chicken was beautifully plated but was overcooked and the jus overly salty. Dessert was delicious and is highly recommended. A nice night out but with hits and misses.

Lovely ambience and wonderful service! The menu isn't extensive, but you can tell that a lot goes into the food that's prepared. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to have great conversation in a cosy setting.

Experience: Forgot to consult me about the seats change before my arrival, I requested to sit round table at courtyard for pre-valentines dinner. After seated than they ask if I wanted to change to courtyard, giving reason that the area is warm due to afternoon heat. The reason I requested courtyard was because the seats are normal chairs as my girlfriend may be wearing skirt/dress. Main dining area seats are high seats facing the bar counter with square tables very close side by side. Good warm persian chic ambience at main dining area but is noisy when full house mainly due to close proximity of square tables. Food: Tarte flambee was not available that day (13th Feb 2018). There is a selection of wine to accompany the food. Ordered pork tenderloin, ceviche red snapper and crab rillettes, food was excellent. More notable was sweet flavourful tender pork tenderloin using caramelised onions, non-porky taste. Next is the toasted crispy sourdough (4 small half-palm sized pieces) that compliment well with smooth marinated crab rillettes. The rillettes has a slightly saltiness with the marinate, flavour of the meat is abit lacking. Lastly is the ceviche red snapper, sweet oniony tasting, the fish is chewy and in cube like shape. Price: Higher than average cafe pricing. About $50 per pax with non-alcoholic drinks. Thoughts / Suggestions: May return if time and opportunity arises, hope to try the tarte flambe and other offerings. Recommend diners to come at a non festive season or non-peak period. Recommend cafe provide free flow of bread for the rillettes for diners to mop it all up. Hope they will indicate food items that are not available during festive season on social media minimum a week earlier.

Beautiful place with nice food. We had a steak (pretty good value for the meat size) and the Ravioles de Royans, which was yummy. The only comment is that the table was a bit too small. We had to move things around very often because there was not enough space on the table.

Good food, good ambience. Does get a little hot in the courtyard at the back during lunch time (1pm), it feels great being in the lighting for a short while before you feel like you're toasting.

Staff were friendly and food was great. :) They were able to recommend choice desserts and gave us our private corner for privacy. However, thought it would be good to have a seat at the outdoor deck instead as we were only 4 pax.

Service is so so soooooo bad. Seriously I had to spend five minutes getting a waiter's attention for every single thing, water, wine, plates, to order, bread etc etc. they really couldn't care less it was shockingly bad. It just ruined our evening.

3 or us shared the Marinated crab rillettes, Pork tenderloin, Grilled chicken and Seasonal mushrooms. We liked the pork and mushrooms the most. The pork was soft and well marinated, the grilled chicken is a tad too salty for our liking.

Merci Marcel is a very beautiful place with attentive staff. The whole experience is quite personalised and the staff who recommended really good dishes to us as it was our first visit. However, the only thing was that the bread was really tough to eat. But I'll definitely go there again!

Very pricey but very well decorated place and comfortable. Went with my baby and she enjoyed herself. Good food but small portions for the price.
