Service remains good and food is tasty but the innovation has stalled. At the higher price, I'll expect more - not dishes I can easily find elsewhere.

A very decent restaurant with cozy environment. Very good service and food. My favroit dish is young coconut curry with crab meat. Must try item!

Food quality was good, but would prefer for the a la carte menu to be reinstated for dinner:

Pleasant service, flavour ful nyonya food in an unhurried atmosphere. Comfortable seating and four heavenly desserts. Crab curry, satay and kueh pie tee exceeded expectations.

The staff spoke very quietly and didn't explain the dishes very well. Also they didn't really listen when we asked for 3 glasses to go with our bottle of wine (for a table of 5) and poured 5 glasses. It wasn't a big issue, but they seemed a bit distracted.

The dishes are delicious. My companion enjoyed it. The price for the buffet is a little steep though. Would come more often if there is ala carte menu. Thank you for the sumptuous dinner!

It is one of the best nonya food in town in an authentic peranakan fine-dining setting and reasonably priced. For overseas friends as well as makan kakis will certainly recommend Candlenut Kitchen for its cuisine with a difference especially the bush keluak with wagyu ribs. Yums :o)

Great menu with all my favourite Peranakan dishes on the set dinner menu. Happy that I was able to have the Buah Keluak ice-cream even though it was not on the set menu. Amazing food and service all round!

Food excellent. Service slow. If ordering white wine do so at beginning of meal as they don't seem to chill it properly. And they only offer overpriced bottled water. But 50 $ prix fixe menu for dinner well worth the price for the most inventive peranakan /nonya food in singapore.

Nice restaurant, friendly staff, great food. But I don't think that the tasting menu is the way forward. The menu can still be very small. But the pricing for this menu will not gather a huge crowed.

Dinner was fantastic! Omasake style - petite dishes with exciting flavors. Each dish is like a surprise which will please the palate and stomach. Perfect with attentive and polite service crew! Definitely worth a visit again :)

The Tasting menu (S$50++ per pax) offered tremendous value and allowed us to sample a number of Chef Malcolm's signature dishes, from both the appetisers and main course categories. Wonderful warm and attentive service added to the lovely dinner experience. It felt as if we were invited into a friend's home for dinner that night!

The food was superb, a good taste of traditional peranakan food in a more modern setting. Love how they have a good selection of beers to complement the food.

Absolutely delicious cuisine, delicate spiciness with bold flavors and beautiful presentation. A Singapore treasure, that would be worth it at twice the price! Not to be missed!

The food at candlenut is fantastic. The Assam Fish and Ayam Buah Keluak are excellent. Love the ambience, reminds me of my grandmother and her cooking. You got to try it!

Good service and great food. The food quality was already very good when they were at Neil Road, but has definitely matured since their move to the current location. It's difficult to apply a modern take to something as steeped in tradition as Peranakan food, but Candlenut does it exceptionally well.

Great food and service, and a small but neat selection of craft beers. A convenient location as well as it's steps from the Outram MRT station and many bus lines.

Food was reasonably priced and delicious. Service was prompt though nothing exceptional. Highly recommended especially for people working around the Central Business District area during lunch.

It's an omakase of sorts, like how my dining companion would put it. Food was really good, especially the Signature Chendol. The gula melaka was very flavourful, and I found myself delighted with every bite.

Great food and service. Wonderful flavors presented in delightfully surprising new ways. I love Peranakan dishes with Buah Keluak nuts and loved it in an oxtail soup and also the surprise of having it as an ice cream with salted caramel on a chocolate tart.

unique spin to the Peranakan cuisine, Candlenut offers great modern Peranakan food with great taste and quality at affordable price. The service was excellent. The kitchen was willing to serve a dish out of the menu as some of us had food allergy.

The ahma-kase had amazing flavours which worked well and gave a good introduction to the restaurant. However, to sample other flavours you'll have to go for lunch to order a la carte.

Food took a while to come out and tastes rich and flavorful but the fish dish came out barely luke warm which was disappointing. Everything else was satisfying. Overall a pleasant experience.

Definitely a 6! Good service and decent Paranakan dishes (which is not easy to achieve. Most of what we get out there are not authentic in taste because we Paranakans are all very good cooks at home).

Restaurant offers only set dinner at $50++ pp. Set comprises a good mix of appetizers, mains and a dessert. Good food and service. Items in set are changed once every two weeks.

Well-prepared peranakan food that is affordably priced. This represents an interesting twist to the usual peranakan restaurant by offering a tasting menu. The coconut ice-cream, in particular, is excellent.

Food was good, and restaurant is nice and quiet. Only disappointed with the following... Itek Tim is no longer in the menu; $0.60 for a glass of warm water is too much to charge; Sambal chilli also have to charge by every 25gms.

Food was excellent but I don't understand the staff's refusal to serve tap water. I would be alright with paying a small amount such as $0.50 but in this case, they were very insistent on not serving tap water at all. Considering that this is an upscale restaurant and we had already ordered the set dinner which was $50++, I really do not understand why they had to be so stingy with serving tap water. If not for this, it would have been a perfect experience because I really enjoyed the food.

A gastronomic extravaganza of tasty Peranakan dishes. Really delicious and value-for-money, considering the wide range of dishes available. Must try! We will be back for more.

Lunch was good as it always is but marred somewhat by the waitress crudely reminding us at different times that a charge would be levied for warm water and for sambal. Really to charge for sambal is quite silly. It is a mainstay of this type of food and should be provided liberally. Even if charges are absolutely necessary it should be just listed clearly on the menu and charged accordingly (and really it should not be charged in the first place).

The food was a nice modern twist to traditional Peranakan food. I liked the tiger prawns and the beef in buah keluak stock. And the Buah Keluak ice cream was brilliant!
