Made reservation via Quandoo for Platypus Bugis. We tried the set dinner menu which came with a starter, main dish and a dessert. Value for money
The food selection is not huge but the quality is good and the price very reasonable. The staff are very attentive and obliging. To top it all, it is readily accessible and easy to find. Highly recommended
Staff walked past holding the water jug even though he saw the empty glass. Is it because thats a waiting queue outside. Overall experience, so so.
Wonderful food served in generous portions! Enjoyed the experience there tremendosly. Service was friendly but felt that attentiveness could be slightly better. Overall a good experience
Food is good, celebrated my Japanese friend's birthday there and I have informed the restaurant about it and they surprised her when 3 staffs came along singing birthday song with a slice of birthday cake.
The service was good as we were being served by Ms Belinda. In fact her service saved the entire dining experience. We went for the 3-course set lunch and the executive set lunch where we had Aglio olio of mushroom as well as the Shaved truffle carbonara for the main dish.
Good food variety and cocktails at a good price! It was quite packed during dinner time, staff may be understaff or not attentive enough to attend to requests
Great prices for great food. Set menu starts from $26 and an alcoholic drink from $6. Try the lobster bisque which costs just $3 more.
As usual service was friendly and great value for money. Always a reliable choice to catch up with friends in a centralised yet obscure place.
Service was not great, chicken came undercooked and after we reported it to the staff it was returned to us overcooked. Billing was erroneous and staff seemed to lack training and keenness to serve.
Great atmosphere, polite service staff and very delicious food - especially the Ribeye and Truffle Rice Bowl! A good place to have dinner with friends!
Their food delivery is prompt. Taste fantastic. Service is awesome. It was a bit crowded during weekends. Will visit again and intro to more friends.
Great food at reasonable prices, lovely ambience and excellent service! Glad that we came. I have taken pumpkin soup at various places. This is the best, way ahead of others. Even one of my family members who is often critical of eateries - if it's not the food, it's the price or the ambience etc - he acknowledged this is a nice place - he liked the brunch rice bowl. We will certainly be back.
Flavourful mains served by polite waiters/waitresses. Portion is just right. Ambience is good. Worth going back to try other mains which looks as delicious as well :)
Great food, great people! Extremely love the Wagyu ribeye truffle rice bowl with onsen egg! Also love their $6 Good Lobang cocktails, my favorite will be secret agent soju.
This is the 4th time i went to Platypus the food and service is good! Ordered a set Dinner with the Prawn pasta and Half Rosemary Garlic Chicken to share between two persons, and both of us left with satisfied cravings and full stomachs~ will definitely go back again!
Understaffed, forgot an order which only came 15 minutes after everyone else finished their food. Mixed reviews on food - ribeye bowl was decent though served a little cold, squid ink crab pasta was good! but don't ever order the steak or steak sandwich!
Nice place! The food is delicious, I love the pumpkin soup, western food. The Japanese food is good but can be better. That is $6 promotion for first drink!
Loved the grilled chicken especially...my hubby who normally avoid chicken breast loved the chicken breast - very juicy...went there thrice...and going back again for the 4th 😋😋
Brilliant service! Appreciate the complimentary slice of cake the staff had prepared for my friend. Love the attentiveness of the staff, you guys are absolutely lovely!
Food, service and ambience is good for friends gathering or a date :) reasonable price for set meals during weekdays ($26++) and $6 for a drink. Worth visiting (y)
Nice food, ambience and the serine is wonderful. Wouldn't mind introducing this place to my fends. Can't wait to try the rest f the food in their meu.
Food is hit n miss, it's my 2nd visit in two weeks. This time with 4 colleagues to try more dishes - Much hyped beef bowl has little beef n ingredients, cast iron chicken is rather tough n handmade pasta is clumped up together like the 1st time I had it - average $40 per pax altho we ordered 1 set meal each. Food not value for $, ambience was ok not too loud n minimal interruption from service.
Good ambience and service there. Decent food portion and good flavor. Went for the 3 course weekend brunch, abit costly for the price but it okay once in a while
Great food! Lots of truffle and crustaceans running through its veins. I recommend the ribeye truffle rice bowl actually. Delectable. Heard good things about the crustaceans pastas too.
First time at Platypus kitchen with family celebrating Mother's day. Comfortable setting and the food is great especially the ribeye truffle , everyone at the table gives a thumb up however the lobster roll is not up to expectation. Overall a good experience, will visit again..
Enjoyed the food very much, and the staff were very friendly. However, they seemed understaffed that night and it took quite a bit of time for service.
Good stuff except for the a small booboo at the end
Food is delicious and is serve timely from soup to main. The staff are polite but would be better if they don't stare into the space or stare at the ground. My friend and I are troubled when we wanted our dessert serve and when we ask for bill but nevertheless the staff still response quickly when she saw us signalling for her.
Great food, ambience and service- cocktail was only $6 and it was good. The set dinner was value for money - as the mains are as much as the price for the mains alone.
The food served is simply tasty and portion is quite sizeable too. Even the cocktails are unique. We really enjoy our dinner. This is my second visit and I will definitely return for more.
Food was not as tasty as the previous visit, specifically the angry shrimp pasta. Service and ambience were good. Staff were friendly and I went there to celebrate my friend's birthday. They were very nice about it and did all they can to make us feel comfortable.
First try of the brunch set. Absolutely worth it with favourful mushroom soup, French toast and chocolate drink without causing a big hole in your pocket.
Average food and loud music, not suitable for a cozy date. I almost cannot hear what my friend was speaking to me over the loud music. Service was quick though.
One of the wait staff was quite attentive and kept replenishing our tea. However, food was not up to par: the pasta was really salty.
Service is very good, staff is friendly. I have been here before, and it's always my top place for delicious and affordable Italian food. Everyone should visit here at least once
Friendly staff but disappointed that the staff missed out to have candle for molten lava cake which was for a birthday surprise. Had informed via quandoo website and in person before the dinner reservation on the actual day. The staff whom I spoke to was Korean and seemed to have difficultly understanding.
Food was fantastic and service staff were attentive. The crab and prawn pasta was excellent. It was definitely a great experience. Will definitely be back again to try the other pastas.
Love the coziness of the place and warmth of the staff! Great for our little birthday celebration where the service staff even broke into a spontaneous birthday song! The kids loved the Platypus brunch!
The panna Cotta and chilli crab bun is not that nice in terms of taste. Panna cotta will be good with addition of vanilla beans and chilli crab bun just doesn't suits the cuisine the restaurant is serving.
Nice atmosphere and good value. We will be back again!
Food is excellent and the staff are attentive to the customers. The set dinners are very value for money. Try the pumpkin soup and the rice bowls. Can be a little noisy as the tables are packed close to one another. Totally worth the visit!
Ordered a lobster roll, crustacean bowl and a set dinner. Food is yummy, service was ok as the restaurant was not very crowded. Will return!
Had brunch at this conveniently located restaurant. They come in sets, with soup, a drink and the main of your choice. We had the salmon ikura bowl ($6 supplement) and prawn arugula pasta. Salmon ikura bowl was very very disappointing. Teppei is cheaper and contains far more salmon. Heck, sumiya is <$20 for salad, drink, salmon bowl, soup and dessert! The prawn arugula pasta was very good though, full of garlic bits.
nice food, but soup was served lukewarm. Would taste better if it was hot. Background music was really loud....... chill man, it's a restaurant not a bar. Overall it isn't too bad :)
The food was great and really value for money! The service was prompt and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant! I will definitely be going back.
Great Experince and the staff was very attentive and good service. Environment could improve with louder song to reduce listen to others conversation. Food mostly themed in Korean ingredient.
Onsen pasta is good. I do like the set dinner menu. Happy hour promotion was great to try out their variety of cocktails. I have a big group n they allocated us to a corner which was great to catch up. Will visit again.
Food of excellent quality promptly delivered to the table after you order. Definitely worth a try. I will return for the beef chilli fries here!
We visited with 4 people. Online reservation was smooth. Got even a confirmatory call back reminding me that the table will be reserved for 10 minutes. Service was friendly, food was good. We waited quite a bit to order our food and it took time to arrive but the restaurant was fully occupied. Would go there again if I am in the area.
