The team behind Telok Ayer Street’s Napoleon have a clear mission, they strive to deliver the highest-end combined culinary and cultural experiences to those that appreciate sharing wine, music and culinary arts and have been awarded for their efforts with a 2014 award as the best food and drinks business by the Singaporean government. In bringing together fine European food and wine, Napoleon has succeeded in creating a sophisticated and thoroughly grown-up dining space in Tanjong Pagar.
Finding chic, contemporary European cuisine can be something of a challenge in Singapore. Of course, there are plenty of places to get pizza, especially around Telok Ayer station, but finding a restaurant that specialises in modern European food done properly is a different matter entirely. Napoleon has addressed this, showcasing their avowedly contemporary European flavours from their Telok Ayer Street premises. The team, led by head chef James Lin, are rightly proud of their signature lamb shank parmentier, shrimp truffle cappellinis and slow-cooked chicken dishes which are responsible for their packed out dining room – be warned, a reservation is nearly essential to get a table here!
