Good food and service. Desert is delicious. It's great that they have kids menu. Only negative is that the food (soup and main course) tend to be on the salty side.
Food was excellent, especially the pork chop and beef cheek. Mash potatoes as a side was so smooth. Wait staff was very attentive. There's a few more private 2 seater for more romantic atmosphere but in general, the setting is cosy. The tables are packed quite close together for some areas.
Service and ambiance were very nice and and in theme for a French bistro. Wine, bread, butter, salad were delicious but entrees were just ok.
Lovely unpretentious bistro which has good service and produces very good French food. A very pleasant evening on a wet Singapore evening. This place is highly recommended.
It was a good experience. We had Good food with great service with a smile! We were looking for a bottle of wine but noticed not too many people in service knew about the wine selection- something they can possibly improve upon considering the selection they have
New menu is excellent! Great service and kid friendly! The Bistro du Vin makeover has really revitalised this old favourite and the new chef has brought a new energy to the menu.
Nice ambience, interior decoration was pretty, would have thought it was in a bistro in France. Lunch menu was good. But a bit overpriced. The service staff was attentive.
Service staff were very friendly. Food was excellent. Even though it was crowded, we didnt have go wait long for the food. Everything came at a co fortable pace.
Great service from all staff, good menu choice and great food. Would strongly recommend anyone looking for authentic French flavours with a very reasonable price point.
Value for money set lunch. Generous portion and delectable dishes. Nice ambience and venue nicely tuck away from the busy street. Will definitely go again.
As always love their duck confit. One of the best and most consistent in Sg. Service is good too. Nice ambience, good wine. Always a good place just to relax.
Great food, space, and service. So good to see Philippe back in his element, and Chef Laurent doesn't disappoint in the kitchen! My only quibble is that the staff were not as knowledgeable about the cheeses as I would have liked, but that was remedied when the chef came by to speak with us. Will be back soon!
We took the set lunch which highly recommend. Good value for money. Nice food and ambience. The beef stew and foie gras is a must order!
it is my 2nd time at bistro du vin and the lunch sets have changed a bit. the beef bourguignon is the star of the meal with its tender beef and huge servings. the service is great compared to the last time i was there. hopefully there would be more choices of desserts in their lunch sets.
It is hard to find a French restaurant in Singapore which has the good combination of great food, service, atmosphere, at reasonable price - but I am glad to say Bistro du Vin is one of them! I ordered 75++SG$ Chef's "Omakase" 3 course menu, shared with my friend. This turned out to be an excellent 6 shared course - starting from 2 appetizers (White Asparagus in season, and Sardine on Pie), 2 main (Lobster Risotto and Grilled Pork) and 2 Dessert (Apple Tart and Crème Brulee), and Coffee! All very tasty. The executive Chef Laurent was friendly. I will definitely come back.
There were a good variety. We decided to order the more "traditional" French dishes and they were delicious and comparable to the cuisine in Paris.
Food preparations is passable except selection for set lunch not wide enough. Should add in seafood items such as scallops, squids and prawns in principal dish to give customers more choices.
Not my first visit and prior to this, I have always had a great time at BDV. We had the very affordable set lunch. Started off great with foie gras and home smoked salmon salad. Both were great and the salad was very refreshing. However, my chicken basquise main was really lacking in terms of flavour and the cook time. The chicken was overcooked and dry and they gave chicken breast. I am a huge fan of chicken breast but I felt that it was really too dry to the point that I could not eat it. The beef bourguignon had great flavour but, again, the beef pieces could do with more cook time. We ended off with a creme brulee. I would return, but I do hope that this experience was due to the fact that they just reopened. Hopefully, they iron out all the inconsistencies soon. (:
Foie Gras was good - my wife had the Wagu Rossini- not good quality and very chewy but they had the good grace not to charge for it - she also had a green salad which was limp and tasteless - normally my wife would have had a Gramd Marinier Soufflé for dessert to finish off the meal but decided not to chance it due to the previous disappointments all in all we feel that Bistro du Vin has gone downhill - we have been coming here over the years on our visits to Singapore and sadly will not be back.
It was 2 years I last came here but your quality of food still impresses me. My friends are planning to bring their family next visit too.
Service was excellent and ambience cosy. We enjoyed the starters, but the duck confit was disappointing. Though the skin was nicely crisped, the meat was somewhat dry. The cheese ravioli was very well-made and tasted awesome with the ratatouille.
An intimate restaurant with great good and excellent service. Can't fault them ! Keep this restaurant small and intimate. Chef coming to check on our food is always a delight !!
I went there with my friend. They were having their holiday menu. The food was tough, dry and unappealing and the service was terrible; the waitresses were talking really loudly amongst themselves in the restaurant.
Food was good but service as always was impersonal. Nice update to decor making it brighter and more lively. Will return but hoping service staff could be more personable
French onion soup and black cod were really nice! Service staff in red uniforms were helpful but the manager (??) was a lot less friendly.
Attentive service as waiter took the initiative to top up my glass of water without any prompting on my part several times. Good meal and the onion soup is definitely a classic!
Staffs are not trained. Wrong serving of food from other table, which then left on our table and the same plate served to another table again, wine served into the glass at the back then brought to us, etc. Disappointing. Substandard for a french restaurant.
Went for their set lunch menu with a party of 4..some hits & misses for the food..the foi gras, onion soup was great. Main course duck confit was way too salty..ribeye steak for both my guest were very unevenly cooked. The crew tried their best to attend to us but seems short handed as we needed to seek their attention like other guests around us..
Nice ambience and great food! Would go back again for lunch or dinner. They even helped celebrate my friend's birthday. Recommended to all! :-) .
Great food and ambience! Staff were friendly and responsive too. I highly recommend the scallops. They have a very value for money set lunch too.
The environment and food are beyond expectation, the staff are polite and nice. The combination of food, environment and staff make the guests comfortable and respected.
The people ,food and services is fantastic. The ambient ia good. Will definetly recommend this restaurant to my friend to patronise. Thank you to all the staffs!
My order today : Foie Gras starter. Ribeye main course. Great chocolate tart with coffee to finish the meal! Overall good value for a lunch time treat!
Firstly the service was very efficient and friendly. The food was good though the mussels are a little too salty(we had the curry flavor). Dessert was amazing! We had the apple tart and soufflé.
chef Laurent was friendly and made good recommendations. Pace of food was nicely spaced out. We enjoy the cozy atmosphere and had a good evening. Will definitely be back again
Nice restaurant with excellant service. The food was very nice with reasonable price. Was there for wife birthday dinner and ambience was good too. Definitely will go again.
I went for the set lunch , we order beef and duck, food is good as usual and the most important thing is very affordable
The pan seared scallops were delightful! The escargot was a little bit of a let down, as it was a little bitter somehow. The iberico pork shoulder was divine! Soo good! No wonder there were so many positive reviews about it online! Beef cheek was pretty yums. And desserttttt, the apple tart was soooo good. The pastry was perfection! The souffle was a little meh coz the grand marnier could only be tasted at the base and it got too much at the end.. but overall the ambience was really nice and service was delightful :)
Ordered their 3-course set lunch which used to be very value for money. Unfortunately, standard seemed to have fallen. Same food, but prepared without passion. Was rather disappointed.
The location is great, in the heart of Orchard but not facing the main road which is quiet. Ambient is nice, staffs are friendly and helpful. The food is nice too!
Excellent and great value set lunch there today. And the creme brulee is to die for, arguably the best in Singapore! Well worth a visit, especially for lunch.
Great meal as usual. But the standout is the polite and efficient service in a crowded week before Xmas with every table packed. Attention to detail like refilling water glasses of regular water show they are also not just in it to take most from the customer. Full marks!
Excellent food as usual - must-tries - French onion soup, duck confit, steak frites, truffle mash and creme brulee.. Unfortunately, the foie gras and Hokkaido scallops were a tad overcooked today, and one of the service staff's tone was rather curt when asked to serve the birthday cake which was meant to be a surprise. Nevertheless, a lovely dinner overall.
Great food, big portions, good casual atmosphere too. Only thing was that the food comes too quickly after the other. They should space up a bit more, or ask.
The restaurant serves great food and wine. The interior of the restaurant has a nice setting too. Prices of the food and wine are reasonable as well. Definitely worth visiting.
It is a small place that can be noisy when full. Food quality is just above average. Toilet is too near the kitchen if customers don't close the door after use.Overall, a pleasant experience.
Rather Basic, The foie gras terrine was made of duck than was not plucked completely from feathers. Cosy little place though, but dont expect high class french bistro.
Attentive derive with a typical French bistro menu. Moet of our meals were spot on and I especially recommend the beef cheeks but did not rate the Iberian Pork. It was very tough, like it had been boiled, but it clearly hadn't as the spices on it were nice - - just the meat was tough and chewy. Overall, however, a goo 'go to' local.
Lunch sets are value for money. Rustic French food (nothing fancy or out of the ordinary), big portions for the price and good food. Ordered mushroom soup, duck confit and chocolate tart (all good) while my partner ordered duck rillet, grilled chicken and apple pie (good but apple pie is ordinary).
Staff were attentive and delivered efficient service. For a french cuisine lunch, 4 of us felt meal of excellent quality and overall decent value, variety.
