Italian culture runs through the veins of Tanjong Pagar’s Trattoria Amanda, and it’s the food that’s the real standout here. The team know eating high quality food is the national pastime of Singapore locals, so there’s no skimping out on high quality ingredients here. You’ll really only find the best. You’d be remiss to overlook the fun of aperitivo here, and we couldn’t recommend Trattoria Amanda’s aperol spritz more highly. Once you’re seated and ready for the main event, kick things off with a romana foccacia to share topped with garlic, oregano and rosemary, a serve of the Italian bruschetta and beef carpaccio with parmigiano, rucola and balsamic.
Then, you’ll need to decide whether you’re in the mood for pasta, risotto, pizza or secondi. In terms of pasta, Trattoria Amanda does an exceptional spaghetti all aragosta, cooked al dente of course with lobster in a tomato base, and a wonderful bolognese that’s just brimming with flavour. In terms of pizza, we can’t get enough of the buffalo margherita topped with fresh basil, tomato and loads of buffalo mozzarella, and the campagnola topped with Italian pork sausage and porcini mushrooms.
