Luxurious lunch with Bestie at Summer Palace. A restaurant served with high quality food, presented beautifully like in a royal palace. From food, ambience and cutlery, all harmoniously coordinated. Excellent service crew who patiently explained every dish that was served. Situated at a quiet corner of Orchard. Good place to dine and be pampered when you felt like you have worked hard for the week.

My family of 6 was looking forward to celebrate the birthdays of my brother and his mrs at this michelin starred restaurant. Upon arrival, we were quickly led to our table and promptly given the menu. And we loved the ambience and setting. However, the lunch took a down turn from then on. We ordered a couple of dim sums and tea whilst waiting for 2 other guests to arrive. The dim sum came and after approx 15mins, there was no sign of the tea. We had to approach a staff who then, in our full view, popped a tea bag into a pot, then served us 5 mins later (which by then, our dimsum had turned cold). The tea should always be the first to be served at any chinese restaurant worth its salt (or star, in this instance). In the course of the lunch, we had to ask 3 times for chillies which finally came with the last main course dish. And we had to remind a staff that our roast pork dish is still missing and even then, it remained un-served. And one of the staff was rather terse, which we did not appreciate. The staff who had handled our billing, however, was a breath of fresh air who apologised for the lack of service. Thankfully, the food was very creatively presented which drew quite a few wows from my party and tasted pretty good, especially the lobster dumpling and the seafood noodles. Dessert choices were common and though not impressive in presentation, I had totally enjoyed the almond cream. We have had birthday celebrations at other restuarants and they have always add in a little birthday surprise towards the end of meals. Well, maybe this is not a practice here even though I had mentioned it's a double birthday celebration. On the whole, while we had enjoyed the food, the service was a letdown which resulted in a very much underwhelmed dining experience which we will not recommend to any friends. P/S: And we were charged an extra serving of dumpling which we ordered but only realised after we left the restaurant that it was not served. Admittedly, i should have scrutinised the bill but I had focused on making sure the missing roast pork did not appear on the bill.

Excellent food at Summer Palace always. They used to have lunch sets which were extremely value for money and delicious! Too bad no more such affordable sets after the relocation/renovation… Hope to see promotional sets in future.

It was my first visit to Summer palace. The atmosphere there was amazing! The restaurant and hotel got vintage feel. I love birds nest with fish maw soup. I love the Peking duck roll, almond scallops which full of flavour and not oily at all. The service is also a plus point. Staffs there were attentive and introduce us every dish. My husband coughed a bit they immediately served him warm water! The environment there was private and chill.Definitely will recommend to my friends.

Summer Palace is our choice restaurant for special occasions. Their ambience, food, service are always too-notch and I have always enjoyed dining here. Their staff are all very attentive. Their tables are all very well spread with lots of spaces (safe distancing and provides privacy), which I really appreciates when having dim sum with the family. And because it’s my mum’s birthday, Summer Palace even prepared 寿包 with complements from the restaurant! ❤️
