More about the restaurant: Phat Cat Laundry
The menu comprises one of the most innovative takes on modern Asian fusion in Singapore, the bar is helmed by one of the best mixologists around Outram Park and Duxton Hill, and the decor is funky and stylish – what more could you ask for from a Chinese laundromat? Seriously, though, it’s hard to think of something you desire that Phat Cat Laundry doesn’t have (unless you are actually hoping to wash some clothes at this little Jiak Chuan Road venue, because the kitschy laundry-themed items are only for decoration). It’s small, cute and popular, so be sure to book a table at Phat Cat Laundry well in advance!

Thinking about making a Phat Cat Laundry booking?
The cohesive link intertwining all the different facets that make Outram Park’s Phat Cat Laundry something truly unique in Singapore seems to be two-fold: fun and innovation. This is kind of a Chinatown laundromat, but only in theme and style, because it’s much more accurately described as a funky modern bar and restaurant that dishes up creative, innovative Asian fusion food (and just happens to be decorated with washing machines, laundry powder on the wall and a plastering of old laundromat receipts). Phat Cat Laundry is fairly new to Jiak Chuan Road but it’s already one of the most hyped eateries in the area, so it’s always wise to book a table well in advance if you want to sample the amazing food on offer!
When we say amazing food, we mean things like rice with wild mushrooms fried in bone marrow, mirin, ginger and served with roasted bone marrow, a whole bone-in brontosaurus char siu beef rib marinated overnight then cooked sous-vide for 18 hours, truffled prawn egg rolls with lemongrass and fish roe and a very special Sichuan burger with a juicy pork and beef patty marinated in Phat Cat Laundry’s own Sichuan spice mix and served with sambal aioli and sweet potato fries. As amazing as the modern Asian fusion food is, the bar at this Outram Park star is overseen renowned, innovative mixologist Hilda Tan, and the exquisite cocktails here on Jiak Chuan Road should not be overlooked!
