Long q & crowded so was happy that I hv a reservation. Was seated quite fast & staff working hard. Food ok & $1 green tea was free refill.

Ootoya is always one of my favourite Japanese restaurant due to its wide variety of choices and of course, the amazing taste that brings you back to Japan. However, during this visit, the service was a tad slow and we had to wait for quite some time until the food was served.

Tasty Japanese food to be had here! We really enjoyed both the beef steak and grilled saba sets -- it was a filling and fulfilling lunch for two :) Plan to be back again, perhaps to try their hotpots and sukiyaki...

In the covid-19 times, it was nice to be able to dine in a Japanese restaurant in Singapore that has the tatami mat seating without shoes - that brought me back to Japan in that instant!

We came by for dinner and ordered a hotpot for 2. When we say hotpot, normally it should be served with a ongoing fire, but no. And we also ordered a beef steak on a hotplate, after 5 minutes; the plate was no longer hot. The meal quickly got cold but the food looks appealing. The only best part was the beef salad. I came to this place because it had raving reviews only to find out that it made us disappointed. Sorry, but I will not be coming back. Please educate your servers on proper restaurant educate, something as simple as "serviettes" shouldn't be so hard to understand.

First visit so pleasantly surprised by the selection of healthy meals available. I had the pork shiogayaki which had decent amount of shabu thin pork and onions. The set came with miso soup and salad - plenty of cabbage! Very filling lunch meal :)
