Slap-bang on Telok Ayer in Chinatown, Singapore, Noti Restaurant and Bar is dishing out fine Italian food, cooked up under the watchful eye of head chef Toni Rosetti. Specialising in serving comfortingly familiar Italian favourites done with the style and attitude befitting the Italian chef’s formidable experience (Gleneagles in Scotland, Four Season in Milan, Hyatt in Paris, and, of course, London’s Savoy). Diners are heading town to Noti for superior Italian food in a relaxed ambience and with a location ideal for a last-minute get together.

Bringing the flavours of his native Apulia to the shores of Singapore, head chef Toni Rosetti (the restaurant’s name Noti is an anagram of Toni) has taken the city by storm. There is something inherently comforting about Italian food, even when it gets a fine dining makeover as it has got here. The food at Noti is dense, rich and bursting with the flavour of Europe’s most famous cuisine, and while the food is plated beautifully, and the portions are fine-dining cautious, there’s no doubt that this is the kind of food your grandmother would make (if your grandmother was some kind of hugely talented nonna chef.
There are few spots in Singapore better suited to housing Signor Rosetti’s brand of rich, complex Italian food, but Telok Ayer (downtown) fits the bill well. Attracting the city’s cosmopolitan crowd, eager to learn a little more about food from the South of Italy, the Club Street location is proving to be a winner. Noti is a good spot for a casual dinner with superior quality food, or lunch when you need to impress.
