Megumi is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants to go to for cosy family dinners and the sashimi is fresh as always!
Food quality is good. Service not bad. Nice overall experience
Food & service was excellent - highly recommend it. Air-Con was off the charts freezing, just like the old Megumi on East Coast Rd. If they turned down their a/c they'd save on the electricity bill and make customers more comfortable too. Not everyone wants to suffer the car fumes & noise sitting outside by the carpark just to avoid getting sick sitting inside!
Good ambience, affordable food & good service. Great place for large gatherings and fellowship. Would recommend for birthday celebrations and meet ups in big groups.
Food is fantastic and of high quality. The service staff are also very friendly and prompt. Great service. The ambience is awesome and nice decor.
Nice to see this restaurant that used to be in Siglap relocate to Joo Chiat. Friendly, attentive staff is what sets this place above other restaurants along Joo Chiat Road. The food is fresh & tasty. A tad pricier compared to other Japanese places that serve similar fare, but overall worth it.
Awesome find along joo chiat rd. Third time here for the fresh sashimi and hearty cuisine. We are always ordering different items to try and bringing more ppl to this place. Menu variety is just nice so you're not too overwhelmed on what to choose, and they even have seasonal specials
Good service and food in a convenient location with free parking space (if you arrive early). 3 ways of enjoying a raw fish (air flown from Japan today) - sashimi, veggie/tofu soup and deep fried bones.
Butter Fish... *drool*. Delicious. Not many places have this. Must try if you’ve never tried it. Can’t rate the hot food because didn’t try it.
One of our favourite Japanese restaurant. We had the fresh Aji this time. It's really fresh and sweet as sashimi. We also had part of the fish grilled. Usual items include tempura udon and spider temaki. Service is really good too.
staff are very polite. nice ambience and ramen was nice. keep up the good service!
The restaurant location came with free parking. The food was excellent. Do have the butterfish sashimi. Highly recommended. Do book early as well, especially if you are dining on a weekend as it was pretty crowded.
Affordable good dishes at reasonable prices especially the cooked food, very very good service and staff. but ridiculously priced alcohol and sake, and cheap grade wasabi and sashimi.
Service and food was good, we ordered a la carte and cost about $40+ average per pax. Good for family and friends gathering. Reservation is recommended especially weekends.
Food n varieties is good but price is a bit on high side. Restaurant Decir can be improved to be more authentic . Service from staff is prompt & efficient.
All dishes we ordered were tasty. The salmon sashimi was good value for money. The slices were thick and very fresh. Worth a visit if you’re in the east and crave for Japanese food.
Always a pleasant to dine at the restaurant. Very fresh food and nothing disappoints. Parking has become more challenging than previous place. Park at building next door if need be. Underground.
very good quality food! fresh sashimi! I would love to go back.
The new location at Joo Chiat has a very cosy look, the only thing that I didn't like was the next table is very close making it hard to walk in or out. upon walking in, after parking my vehicle, the staff greeted loudly, feeling appreciated to be there for patronising them! (free parking just outside the restaurant but you have to be early). Food is fantastic, portions of sashimi are huge slices, it is fresh! super fresh!
New place is more spacious than the one at Siglap. Staff are friendly and service attentive. However , perhaps it was due to the festive period, some of the items were not available and sashimi items tasted a bit different than usual .
Great selection of Japanese food and drinks. Some dishes were good some were just average. Good service staff. A place to book for family gatherings.
Good experience; had a nice meal with family and friends!
Decent setup with freshly served jap food. Parking could be a problem. Portions were good and service was prompt during peak hours. Well recommended! Will be back.
One of our favorite Japanese restaurant in the East. Had the vegetarian ramen, garlic fried rice and our favourite shabu shabu, etc, food is good and not too expensive.
New premise, more space than previous location. Same good food
Food was quite good, but it's a old restaurant so need some freshened up.
Waiters were not attentive enough .. could have done better
Shifted from siglap to katong. This is quite an old establishment. Food is still not too bad. The price is a bit on the high side.
Staff were very helpful and provided great service. Food was decently priced for quality, but wish portion was a tad bigger to fully savor what they had to offer. Will visit again. Ambience might be a bit noisy indoors though
Food quality is pretty decent. N service is good. Only gripe is the price is slightly on the higher side. But still a nice dining experience
order beef udon and seafood noodle, beef udon taste light, seafood noodle soup just nice not creamy or salty. environment quite nice. need to reservation .
I was told no reservations was made. But luckily the staff able to arrange. Thanks. The good was nice and staff there are friendly. Thanks.
my favourite Japanese reaturant, must try their butter fish when you come here.
I'm always coming back to this restaurant whenever I'm in the east
Never fail to impress me. Staff is friendly, place is brightly lite
They have just shifted to Joo Chiat, always good to come on every Tuesday or Friday where fresh supplies arrive
Quick and good service. The food was tasty and, and parkign was convenient with parking available right in front of the shophouse. Would go there again.
As usual great food with great choices. Place is crowded so reservations are a must. Ambiance is good as the place is new and renovated since it's move from Siglap.
Food was good but slightly pricey, would be great if prices were more affordable. Cosy environment and attentive staff. Will definitely visit this place again. New location is also very convenient.
The way that the food comes is not correct as we got our noodles before we had our other appetizers. In fact, our gyoza which is an appetizer was totally forgotten and we had to remind them that we still have the appetizer not served yet before they quickly arrange for it. Other than this, the food is quite good and the prices are reasonable.
Quality of food was great. Variety could increase. Small but always crowded restaurant.
The food never disappoints as usual. A good jap place to go in the east. Car park at the new place is a challenge though.
Food was good and service was fine. We were disappointed that they didn’t have oysters though. We will definitely be back for more, especially the foie gras
a jap restaurant in e east tt never disappoints. food has been consistently gd.
jap restaurant in e east tt never disappoints. food has been consistently gd. service staff can b more attentive though :)
Food quality is above average. Customer service and speed of food preparation need to be improved. Marketing shall promote more on value/promotional meals. The price is abit of high side.
Food is great but on the high side. service is prompt.
Abit slow and waiting time was abit long. Tables are very close to one another. But good food
New location is spacious.. Staff are wonderful, food is still fantastic. Parking is a challenge in the new neighborhood. In the end double parked in front of the restaurant and informed the staff
Good food, warm reception and decent pricing. Can be crowded over the weekends which means is hard to have to conversation. Regardless, will go back there again.
