Megumi Japanese Restaurant – Joo Chiat Road

Arrived on time as scheduled 6.30 pm. Restaurant staffs are busy- short handed I suppose. Waited for about 5-10 minutes. Had to approach the staff to take order n then told us to wait. Another 5-10 minutes passed and our orders were taken. We waited and waited for our food, and there were 4 hungry kids- so we told one of the staff to at least prepare and serve the meals to the kids first. By the time the food arrived, it was way past an hour - approximately 80 minutes- from my arrival time at the restaurant. Indeed it was not a pleasant experience

Had the set lunch there. I had the Hokkaido pork while my friend had the grilled salmon. The food was very good and affordable too. It costs us less than $40 for two persons.

Repeated customer. This is one of the few Japanese restaurants along Joo chiat and marine parade. The lunch sets are value for money and the sashimi are fresh. I will definitely patronise them again.

Loved the fact that they have a couple of separated areas that are a bit more private for bigger groups. Food is tasty and we throughly enjoyed all the items we ordered - from the maki, to the don and the yaki udon! Menu is limited in terms of desserts and drinks though, but the food made up for it.

Great value and quality lunch sets, in a comfortable environment for a big group as always. Foie gras was very worth the price, for the portion and quality! No waiting necessary with our reservation. However, female service staff was not very friendly when we enquired about the menu, got our order wrong, and our tea were not refilled, until we requested individually. Will definitely still return anyhow, but perhaps need more service staff to manage better.

Serves very good quality raw fish. Authentic Japanese food. Restaurant is usually fully booked during meal times. Advanced booking is highly recommended. Value for money for the quality you get.
