Booked for my brothers birthday lunch. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly! Not a fan of unagi but the rest of my family enjoyed it. I liked the ramen and crab chawanmushi. Everything was really reasonably priced and ambience was great. Parking was convenient just outside the restaurant as well.

If you haven't try Yamato Izakaya, you are missing out a lot. The restaurant offers 3 different brands which give a variety of different choices of food such as ramen, sashimi and rice bowl. I ordered the Kampachi cheekbone from the fish to share and also order a bowl of Tonkotsu ramen from Ramen Hitoyoshi. Known for their customisable bowls of ramen, i was able to request things like oil level and noodle texture. I would definitely come back here again.

Best in Singapore for reasonably priced top quality Japanese food. Located in an industrial estate which may be a bit different than in town but with free parking on weekends and the exclusivity of the place would definitely capture peoples attention to pay Yamato Izakaya a visit. Will be back for more.

A weekend dinner at Yamato Izakaya was memorable. From the large signboard to the creative decorative elements of the restaurant that mimics Japanese architecture, It is truly a good location to have dinner at. My family ordered a mix of ramen and Unagi rice bowl. they were all cooked to perfection as the texture of the noodles and thickness of the soup was how i indicated in my preference. Unagi tasted really nice due to the soy sauce that they dipped before serving. Wanted to try the Donburi from Tora Tora but didn't although i Will be coming back for it in future.

I came during dinner time with a group of friends for catching up and we ordered the special twin tower Sapporo beer for the weekends as they were having a special promotion going on and it was good as the beer coupled with the Japanese dish that Yamato Izakaya provided made the whole experience better. we ordered the sashimi boat platter to share amongst ourselves and we can tell it was really fresh. Furthermore, the Futago don that Tora Tora sold was an interesting concept that i have not seen in any other Japanese establishment. It's highly recommended to pay a visit to Yamato Izakaya as its a great place to whole a large number of people.

Wonderful dining concept by Yamato Izakaya where there was a mix of different types of Japanese food like Ramen and rice bowl. The famous Man Man Unagi also opened here! You can see the eels swimming in the tank so freshness is as good as it gets. Ate the Kampachi Hitsumabushi and really enjoyed the freshness of it. Will recommend this place to my friends.

Went here for a girls night out and it was a blast! The place offered beer towers which totally suits the outdoor environment as well as the food that they served. Wait staff were on the ball and responded eagerly when i asked for directions to the toilet. We ordered a number of side dishes like tempura, yellow fish cheekbone etc which goes well when drinking beer. Ordered the Unagi Ochazuke which is basically green tea poured into the rice and mixed with seaweed, wasabi and the unagi. Really great and filling. It's not every day you get to eat fresh wasabi to the point where you are grating the actual root. This is a place where you don't just come once but multiple times for the location and the capacity to hold a lot of people. Do make your reservations online first!

Damn good place. Ramen comparable to other ramen chains in price and taste but offers a better atmosphere and location. Got other dishes aside from ramen like donburi and tempura. will come back again.

I swear this is one of the best places for Japanese food! free parking and not crowded even on weekends what's there not to like? Unagi is from the famous Man Man at Tanjong Pagar! There is no need to queue, as the restaurant takes in reservations. There were other stalls as well, like the ramen and sashimi rice bowl. Confirm will come back again! will bring my bros here to chill and drink!

As an avid fan of Japanese culture, the food is of importance to me especially if it's not eaten in Japan. But that all changed when I went down to Yamato Izakaya during the weekends. A promotion was ongoing which gave me 5% off when I follow their Facebook and Instagram page. What's more, the Man Man unagi was cooked by a Japanese chef and was evident by the quality of the dish served. The chef did all the cooking and preparing in front of me. It's always a wonder to watch chefs in action especially when they are confident enough to showcase it live. The texture of the unagi was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The portion was huge and filling. This place is highly recommended for Japanese lovers and enthusiast should they miss authentic Japanese food without paying for an air ticket to fly there.

The Unagi sold here is best in town! Opened by the same man man Unagi at Keong Saik street, finally have it somewhere in the east and closer to home. Getting here was a breeze as parking is free during lunch. Will be coming back for more!

Yamato Izakaya is a must visit restaurant for anyone. Located in and around the Tai Seng MRT, the public can take a 5 min walk from the MRT to reach the restaurant. whats more, the restaurant is easy to spot due to its huge signboard. Yamato offers 3 different brands inside its restaurant which allows them to serve a wide variety of dishes. I tried the Futago Don which is a mix and match of 2 different rice bowls served in two connected bowls which allowed me to choose what kind of rice bowl i want. Its really unique and something i have never seen before. Staff were also attentive and made the my dining experience a happy one. Highly recommended.

If you have ever wanted to try some authentic Japanese cuisines, but don't want to head to town due to the crowdedness and the hassle of the Jam as well an expensive parking fees then Yamato Izakaya is the Answer for you. Located in the Tai Seng industrial estate, Yamato Izakaya offers 3 different Japanese brands in one place! parking was free during the weekends and its located in a not so crowded area as compared to orchard! whats more man man unagi is also there! Quality food and free parking is a definite must go. The spicy Tonkotsu was to die for as the spiciness and richness of the broth just made it even tastier. will come back here again!

Really good place to go for lunch! Near my office also so makes it even better. Good Japanese food and competitive prices makes its a worthy restaurant to patronise. Usually eat the ramen or the rice bowl here which are more economical than the unagi rice bowl but it still taste nice for the quality that you are getting. Will come back again!

Delicious unagi. Relaxed ambience. Attentive staff. The place was spacious and not too crowded on a Sunday night. Menu is confusing, items all seem to be the same. Somewhat pricey for the food, but the chef's craftmanship is good.

The location was great as it was close to Taiseng MRT! the actual place though is at Oxley Bizhub which you would have to find your way around the back of the building so it could pose as issue for people travelling by public transport. However, the big signboard thats outside of the restaurant helps a lot in finding it. Food was great as you would expect from Man Man Unagi, the other interesting offering was from Tora Tora with their unique 2 in 1 rice bowl options that you get to choose. never seen that before in any other Japanese restaurants. Great place for hanging out with friends and families, will definitely come back again.

I have been here before as i heard that man man unagi opened a 3rd outlet! But i came back as there were the other 3 stalls that i wanted to try especially Tora Tora where they had the Futago don which brings eating Japanese rice bowls to a whole different level. Location is perfect for drivers as on site parking is available and its FREE!! Will come back again for authentic Japanese food!

My family and i wanted to eat some Japanese food as we were all craving for it and chanced upon this nice establishment in the east. The place was away from the city and parking was a convenience. Moreover, the food was cooked by a Japanese chef where you are able to watch live how your eel is being prepared. For quality food and away from the city is definitely a place to go if you wanna beat the jam and parking fees. Highly recommend.

Didn't know that Yamato Izakaya has Man Man Unagi! If i had found this gem earlier i wouldn't have to queue at the main outlet at Tanjong Pagar! Plus reservations are taken here so no more queueing and make the whole process seamless! The Unagi was grilled nicely with crispy edges and soft, tender flesh! It a great place for a large gathering and with a wider option of Japanese cuisines, makes the restaurant even more desirable. Will be coming more often in future!

Been here on a couple of occasions with my colleagues as we work around the vicinity. Its a good addition of quality Japanese food in the area as it increase the variety of food in the area. The atmosphere and location gives the people working around the area a choice to eat Japanese food. The Ramen is of comparable prices to other establishment, and the taste is worth the price you are paying especially the Tonkotsu Ramen where the broth was cooked to perfection.

Came here for the promotion that was offered by Yamato through the weekends and it was a good initiative from the restaurant. the food they offered was top notch. I ordered from Ramen Hitoyoshi as i remember eating from their other outlet at Harbourfront. Quality is evident by the broth and price was average to other ramen establishment. Will be sure to come back again in the future.

The food was excellent, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was fitting for a Japanese restaurant! Whats more, when i came during the weekends there was a promotion going on which coupled with the free parking made this trip worthwhile. Ordered the pork Donburi and was not disappointed. Generous amount of pork and the egg on top made the dish just melt in your mouth. Am looking forward to my next visit!

Have never tried this place before but decided to give it a go due to a weekend promotion as stated on their Facebook page. Brought my gf along and was not disappointed. The location was inside the Taiseng industrial area where all the other car dealers have their showroom buildings. Parking was free on weekends which gives a nice touch and the most surprising thing was that Man Man Unagi is located inside Yamato Izakaya! Ordered their famous Hitsumabushi and was greeted by a large portion with Michelin worthy Unagi. Will definitely come back here again.

Came during the weekends for Dinner as the location offered complimentary parking for drivers. The restaurant was big enough to accommodate a large amount of customers which is a plus point. Food was also above standard, fitting of an authentic Japanese experience. The Futago Don was an interesting Dish as you get to mix 2 different rice bowls to try. Highly Recommended if you are coming here with friends and families.

Had a really good time yesterday! Got a reservation with Yamato and seats were available upon reaching the restaurant. Staff was polite and the food was equally good! I particularly like the interior design of the restaurant as it mimics the Japanese style of simplicity. Cleanliness was also top notch and the whole experience was rewarding! Location was also good as Taiseng mrt was just around the corner and parking is available as well! Should have came on a weekend or lunch time as free on site parking was offered. we had the salmon don as well as a bowl of ramen with tempura as the sides and the food was really good. will definitely come back again!

Was here last night as i made a reservation at 7pm. Was greeted by the manager of restaurant and got escorted to my seat no less than a min making the whole experience seamless. The true joy though was the quality of the food. Man Man Unagi never fails to amaze me with the way that they grill the unagi to the point where it just melts in your mouth with every bite. Watching them grill your unagi while you patiently wait for it makes it even more enjoyable as you get to see your food being prepared in front of you. Would definitely come back again as the location was not crowded and it being near the MRT station (taiseng) was an advantage.

Was really excited to pay a visit to yamato as i heard that man man unagi opened a third outlet!! really enjoyed the one at tanjong pagar but the queue was unbearable! at least this place takes in reservation so there was not any worries if no seats available. furthermore, the restaurant is big! can accommodate a large amount of people! the taste of the unagi was identical to the one at the main branch and yet its nearer to where i stay! will definitely come back here again!

My family and i wanted to try something new and decided to make a reservation at yamato izakaya as the dining concept was interesting and the location was set at taiseng which was away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. the restaurant was easy to find due to the large signboard and the food offered was the renown man man unagi and other choices from tora tora and ramen hitoyoshi. the environment was nice as you get to see the chefs in action when cooking your unagi and there was a live tank filled with live eels which was interesting for the kids to watch. the dish tasted as expected and was really worth all the penny spent for a family dinner. would recommend others to come and will come back again in future.

i booked a reservation last night and was welcomed by the huge signboard that says Yamato. You really can't miss this place no matter if you are driving or just walking around the vicinity. the interior design was minimalistic and clean, the manager was attentive to bring us to out seats and we felt welcome. Food was as expected of a Japanese restaurant, the ramen i had was rich in taste and the ability to customise the amount of oil was a plus point. Overall it was a pleasant experience and i would come back again.

one of the satisfying part of this restaurant is the location. its located around the Taiseng industrial estate and its near the MRT as well. parking is free on weekends and lunch time making it ideal for office workers heading out from lunch. if you are worried that you might not have enough time, you can make a reservation thus making the process faster. The food is of course delicious as one of the chef was a Japanese thus making the style and taste exceptional. quite a rare find these days for authentic Japanese food located in an industrial area. would definitely come back here again during lunch

Staff were polite and attentive and everything was a pleasant experience. Will definitely come here again.

was intrigue by this establishment in the middle of the industrial estate as they were offering the renown michelin bib guide awardee man man unagi. And what a great find it was! the original man man at tanjong pagar was always pack due to the long queues hence waiting time was an issue for most. over here, you get to make a reservation online through quandoo and the process was seamless. the unagi was as fresh as it can get as the unagi was kept swimming in a tank and then gutted and grilled for consumption. will definitely patronise this place in future.

Came here for dinner after work and the process was smooth sailing. My booking was for 7.30pm and there were seats available, staff were extremely courteous befitting of the Japanese hospitality. The location was perfect for me as it was within walking distance from Tai Seng MRT (5 MIN). The restaurant was easy to find with the big sign that says YAMATO. Food was excellent as I ordered for myself an unagi bowl while my partner ordered a bowl of ramen. The portion was huge and the taste was befitting of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. Furthermore, we pretty near the counter seats which we witness the unagi being gutted and grilled live thus improving the whole dining experience. Would definitely come back here again during the weekends with my family or friends as they offer free parking during the weekends. Would greatly recommend anyone who has a raving for authentic Japanese dishes to try out Yamato Izakaya.

Yamato Izakaya is definitely a fine addition in the Japanese cuisine market as the location of the place and the food that they served was of high quality. i was surprised that man man unagi opened here as i thought it was just another Japanese chain but the concept of this restaurant is where it houses 3 different Japanese stalls into one which makes the experience even more unique. will definitely visit here again.
