Right in the heart of everything on Club Street, Ichida Japanese Dining Singapore is impossible not to love. The food is a multitude of cuts above the standard level often found at Japanese restaurants in Singapore and the atmosphere makes you feel instantly at home. It’s a casual vibe, without doubt, best enjoyed if you visit as a group and share plenty of dishes amongst the group. Being on Club Street, the nearest MRT station to Ichida Singapore is Telok Ayer. Open for lunch as well dinner every day, but closed on Sundays – this is fresh Japanese dining the way it should be and we love it.
You can’t visit Ichida Singapore without trying as much of the sushi and sashimi as possible. The tuna belly is one of our favourites, as is the salmon fin and the king crab. The scallops with a spicy cod roe sauce are also good and are served with fresh and seasoned Japanese tomato, while for a larger dish, you can’t go wrong with the grilled sweet trout complemented with a soup.
