For a truly authentic Mexican experience in Singapore, head to Viva Mexico on Cuppage Road over in Orchard. You won’t find Tex-Mex cuisine here, instead Viva Mexico delivers on the spice serving up flavour-packed cuisine just like how it’s done in Mexico. Sit indoors in a charming dining room full of Mexican flair, or head outdoors and dine alfresco. We highly recommend any of the fajitas (grilled meat served in a corn tortilla) or the hefty Viva Zapata Arrechera which features a sizzling 500 grams combo of marinated flank steak, cheese quesadilla, guacamole, potatoes, chillies, onions and sweet corn. Reserve ahead for the best seats.
food is not bad, casual & quiet setting, service is good. should visit on a weekday for fast seating. would recommend - sangria & fajitas
One of the few good Mexican restaurants in Singapore. Service is good as well. Try out their margarita pitchers. Too bad I hear they are moving.
This is a good place for Mexican food :) Some dishes are really worth it (Sopa de chile poblano, tacos de pescado). This is my second time. Service and attention are good, staff is warm and nice. I will definitely come back.
With a bona fide Mexican chef helming the kitchen at Viva Mexico, this Cuppage Road restaurant is the closest you’ll get to true-blue Mexican cuisine in Singapore. Not to be confused with the Tex-Mex genre found in most restaurants here, Viva Mexico prides itself on authentic Mexican dishes made from traditional recipes – and they sure do pack a punch.
Conveniently located just off the Orchard Road shopping belt in downtown Singapore, Viva Mexico offers you the choice of dining from its charming indoor space or outdoors beneath a covered pedestrianised walkway giving you ample opportunities for people-watching. Some of our favourite dishes include the achiote chicken (chicken breast marinated with achiote sauce, wrapped in banana leaves and baked with cheese), the crab enchiladas and the pork carnitas (pork cooked for eight hours with oranges and spices, served with salsa, lime, pico de gallo and corn tortillas). Afterwards, try some authentic Mexican tequila from Viva Mexico’s lengthy selection that includes 19 different bottles of pure agave tequila, from coffee-flavoured to blue tequila! Celebrate the flavours of Mexican cooking at this Orchard gem but don’t forget to reserve ahead of your visit.
