About The Lokal

Around Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar, on Neil Road, locals have been heading to, um… The Lokal and finding themselves presented with an excellent cafe-bistro-restaurant that offers flavours from around the world. Great coffees, cakes and pastries are the centre of the daytime offerings here, but as the evening draws in, these give way to heartier mains as well as a good selection of beers and wines. Little surprise then that The Lokal is pulling guests from across the city to its dining room.
See below for The Lokal's special menus!
Tanjong Pagar residents know that The Lokal is part cafe, part proper, grown up restaurant. In the daytime guests are invited to get a swift pick-me up in the shape of a coffee, or stay a while for tea and cake. But dinner is a different matter altogether. In the evenings, this Neil Road eatery transforms itself into a restaurant, with a daily changing menu to boot. Singapore’s discerning foodie bunch welcome the excellent selection of locally-sourced dishes, and tourists are grateful for the kitchen’s pluralistic approach to food.
If you find yourself in Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar at a loose end, we recommend you pay a visit to The Lokal, not only are you guaranteed an excellent cup of coffee, the team pride themselves on offering a warm welcome to guests from near and afar. But if you want to see what the team at Neil Road’s The Lokal are really capable of, the only way to do it is to visit for dinner. The team delight in sourcing local ingredients and giving them an international spin, and are pulling hordes of diners from across Singapore to prove it.

A restaurant with excellent food & friendly staff who take care of your every need without being obtrusive...We dine here frequently & have never been disappointed The Sunday roast is great
Great and high quality food. If you are interested in German food which is not pork knuckle or Curry Wurst this restaurant is a must! The service is amazing and the Chef Max is excellent host. We love it.
Easy peasy. Better to reserve than to be in line. Lucky it wasn't crowded on weekday night. Food is good as always. Good portion and price
Perfect service despite large crowd! Good food as well that's perfect with beautiful interior of the place!
The food was of great quality! Highly recommend the Sticky date pudding! The portions are huge so sharing would be a good option for girls with smaller appetites. The wait for the food was rather long, and we were starving while waiting. However, overall this was a good experience at The Lokal. Friendly staff. Will be back again next time!
The Lokal is a place where you can hang out with friends on weekday evenings and not worry about hogging the seats for too long. Fish and chips and slipper lobster linguine was great, with the seafood very fresh. Chocolate rum moouse with caramelised banana was nice too!
Visited The Lokal for a nice weekday dinner with a friend. I had the 1/2 Roasted Kampung Chicken (came with mushrooms, spinach and truffled mash oooo :P) and it was AMAZING!!!! Great portion size :) Friend had the Sirloin Steak and it was gd too. Great dinner!!!
Service was great. Food was good. The Catch of the Day was Beetroot Cured Salmon, which was very nice and goes very well with the toast that came with it. The truffle fries were big and yummy. Portion for kampong chicken was huge enough for 2 persons. Ice creams and sticky date pudding (which also comes with 1 scoop of ice cream) were great. They were playing blues in the background which I like but my aunt hated.
Even though The Lokal is more known for its brunch, dinner turned out surprisingly good. The sirloin beef was very good, while the kampong chicken tasted much better than it sounded.
We ordered the following 1) pork chop with kale salad 2) fish and chips 3) roasted kampong chicken 4) steak with fries 5) truffle pasta 6) Rosti 7) truffle fries 8) sticky date pudding the food was great! 8/10. we enjoyed their homemade ketchup and chilli sauce. however, the truffle fries barely had a hint of truffle at all. portions were all good! service was prompt. also love their weekend brunches. will return!
