Simple cafe conveniently located at Bugis Junction. Food was Ok

I made a reservation for 2 at Thachang Bugis on 13 March at 730pm. The staff at the restaurant asked if I made a reservation and I showed her my email reservation. She told me I had to wait in the queue because my reservation was made that day and they were still clearing reservations made the day before. I told her then Quandoo would need to improve the system. If you still had previous days’ bookings to fulfill, the system should not have opened new slots for my timing. This might result in pile ups in the queue. Furthermore there were at least 3 empty tables at that time so why were we made to wait? It was only after some reluctance and hesitance she allocated a table for us 10 minutes later. We had wanted to try the Claypot boat noodles for 2 which they were having a promotion but the item was not even in the menu. I had to go to the counter for the staff to manually key in my order. It made me wonder hard if the promotion was just a gimmick which the restaurant was not earnest in selling the dish because the profit margin might be small. That is not all. When I did a routine check on Quandoo on my points the next day, it showed my reservation status at Thachang as ‘Cancelled’. Thankfully I had my payment history on line as proof. This was not the first time that Thachang Bugis made such a mistake. I have previously made at least 2 complaints to Quandoo. I am very sure mine is not the only isolated case. There could be many unreported cases. I had screenshot my proof of payment and submitted to Quandoo.

Ambience is good. Food is authentic worth to come try.

Poor experience with the booking. Showed up but was marked as no show. Food was ok, portion slightly small and little ingredients for the pricing. But a good place to dine if you want aircon and ambience is rather nice.

the menu is pretty extensive. the tomyum is alil on the sweeter side, ask for it to be spicier if that is your thing

First time trying this Thai restaurant in Bugis Junction. The prices are fair and I tried the Boat Noodle with Beef. Quite good. Will try other dishes next time.

First time visit and it was indeed very good Thai cuisine. One of my friends is an ethnic Thai and she remarked that the food ingredients and cooking style were both very authentic; no wonder it was crowded for a weekday dinner.
