Cosy place with warm service, the young owners are very knowledgeable in sake and very passionate in sharing the knowledge. Those with huge appetite might find the food portions a little too dainty though.

Our first time to this place, small but the food is great! Friendly staff! It's a must to try this jap restaurant:) Awesome place in Singapore!!!

We came on a Saturday night and it was not very crowded. Food was in very small portions and very expensive, but this is quite typical for izakayas. The food was very delicious though.

The Wagyu beef stick and bacon hotate stick is so good! Went on a Friday night and spent around $122 for two. Would come back for the yakitori.

Friendly staff and good recommendation of food. Nice place for gathering when good food and drinks are important. Will surely come back again! Hope to see more selections of sake.

The quality of food is really superb, especially prawns, scallop, charcoal grill, skewers and sushi! The service crew is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, provides very good recommendation.. Though prices are on the high side, the food quality and service is really worth a visit!

Enjoyed all the dishes ordered, though I felt selection is limited because we were really hangry. Recommend Shime-Saba, Kuro-age, minced pots cuttlet and negitiro don.

The restaurant is easy to locate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is nice and good! A good place to gather. Price is a little on the high side with the small portion for each dish.

Food is always good here, and it's a vibrant yet cosy atmosphere. Come for both lunch and dinner, as the menus are different. Highly recommended.

Good foods & great lively atmosphere! We had the onigiri, sashimi platter, chef's skewer selections and grilled makerel to share among two. Sashimi was sweet, fresh and love the generous cut. Skewers were delicious especially the Tsukune, it was juicy and packed with flavours. The only downside was we found the sapporo draft beers were not as fresh and pungent. It was not bad but just not the best. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, definitely a place we will return!

Awesome Izakaya and value for money. For starters, the guy ponzu was refreshing for the palate. Will recommend the mackerel and Grilled squid paired with the Sapporo draft.

Good choices of sake and selection of food. Service was a bit slow though, probably cos it was packed on a Friday evening. Nevertheless, friendly staff.

Food was great n staff friendly and helpful. But juz that due to peak dinner time on Friday, the staff was not able to see us many times when tried to catch their attention to order more food. But overall experience was good :)

Not comfortable seating. Too crowded. Not family friendly - no high chair and no place to put stroller for baby seating. Food is not good. Expensive for the tiny portion.

Was quite disappointed. Food was not as well prepared as it was mentioned in the reviews. Seems to be shorthanded in the shop as it took quite a while to come back on revised bill.

Always a great time at Shukuu! Definitely recommend the chicken skin, the meatballs and the parmesan cheese chips, those are must orders whenever we visit!

Very nice food and good service! Quite disappointed that they ran out of sashimi though. And the staffs look busy all the time so our glass of water was never refilled... but still, doesn't really matter because the food were really good! I love the tsukune most! So soft and fragrant! I also really like the mentai rosti. Their potato shreds were not the soft kind you get at Marche but a bit... how do i put it? Fresh and crunchy? And the mentai sauce was just the right amount! Not too much to the point of overpowering the rosti and not too little that i don't taste the mentai. Will definately be back for more!!

Love the food and service was good too. Despite the crowd, the staffs tried their best to attend to our needs. I also like that food ar ein small portions because we can try larger variaty. With a wide selection of food, my favorite is the meatball!!

Great food. The pork jowl is a must try. Outdoor seating available and smoker friendly. Service is great, ask for recommendations if you're not sure.

All of the food was super tasty especially the salmon mentai sushi. Love their soup noodles too! The waiters were extremely nice and friendly. However, the servings can be smaller than expected.

A great place for authentic Japanese tapas food. Didn't get to try the kani miso but had the Crab gratin instead which was awesome too. Will be back again for booze and FOOD!

Nice place, large sake selection. Would be ideal to have a sake menu stating the characteristics of each sake, as well as the price. Maybe good to include recommended food pairing options as well.

Unpretentious. Down-to-earth good food and spot-on recommendations. Not a place for a romantic dinner, but most certainly a place for meeting friends to have a lovely night out where you can eat, drink and laugh happily!

Cosy environment, with good food and service; I've been for multiple return visits. Recommended for both lunch and dinner! Try the kushi don at lunch, and maguro yukke and mentaiko rösti at dinner, though all the food is delicious too =)

Skewers and oden were good! Service was prompt and polite. They were nice enough to refill my crackers for the deep fried cambermet cheese. A good first experience.

Food was good, but the service was excellent. The waiter went to great pains to explain the menu to us and offered recommendations and seemed very enthusiastic about his work. They have a penchant for many things mentaiko and cheese-related, so you might want to mix your orders up to savour a wider range of flavours.

Good food and serving size. Chicken on skewer too salty. Love the crab gratin, chicken skin dish and beef with roe. Place is a bit squeezy so unless youmind fellow patrons hearing your conversation, this is quite a good hangout place to chill over drinks

Experience with staff is somewhat inconsistent. Love the mentaiko rosti. Place can be crowded during evenings. Lunch sets are pretty good and affordable. Will definitely visit again!
