Good special probably best peranakan food. Not so cheap but worth it.
We loved the variety of dishes they had and it tasted authentic too.
Serving potions from the set menu were generous. Great place for group gathering.
It is always a joy to eat at PeraMakan. Good stuff!
They have great service at PeraMakan! The waiter/waitress very attentive. They even gave us a discount when we supposed to use the OCBC credit card, and then discovered that the OCBC card that we have cannot be used! We used another bank's credit card and still they gave us the discount! Worth going back for a meal as the food is simply delicious!
Competent peranakan restaurant, great lamb shank rendang, steamed otah, and nangka curry. Beats blue ginger anytime. Any local is doing our heritage a disservice by bringing foreign guests to Ivin's and passing that off as nonya food. Peranakan Flavours at Tan Quee Lan, Folklore at Beach Road, and Nya Nya Cafe at Suntec City Tower 4 near the GV Cinema are the places to go. Go to Violet Oon's place at the National Gallery if you prize ambience above all, and are willing to pay top dollar. Food is passable. I have no tried Candlenut. I have been going to Peramakan for many years. On the whole, I enjoyed my dinner experience yesterday. While I have never been on the receiving end of poor service, it has improved. The Management I feel is always trying hard. Thank you. The Beef Rendang was not as lemak, well spiced, and braised long enough to bring out the flavour and the kerisik tasted strangely more of chillis than coconut. Sadly, I sat down to a table adorned with a torn table cloth. My overall impression is that the restaurant has seen better days and needs to be refreshed.
went in early for dinner before 6.30pm. The resturant is empty still. Food is served very fast; within 10min upon ordering. Not that i m complaining that it's fast but it seems to me that they have prepared everything in advanced & simply warm & dish it out. The only thing i need to wait is the deep fried prawn roll. I supposed the meal is pretty expensive. For 2 paxs, our bill come up to closed to $75. for a pork rib, prawn roll, nonya vege. It's more economical to go on a big group 8 paxs & above & go for the set menu as they come with desserts & the set menu is approx $280 +
My first time at PeraMakan. Service and food was solid! No regrets. Love the ayam buah keluak!!! It was really good with loads of keluak in it!
The bakwan kepiting is very tasty - clear soup with much flavour. Enjoyed how the meatballs were not too porky or tough, with the succulent bamboo shoots giving good balance. Assam prawns was the best dish - tangy and sticky - ate definitely far too much rice with the sauce...
