The bamboo briyani served here is unique and unforgettable. The aroma of the spices is mouthwatering. We had an enjoyable time here and look forward to coming again soon.

Food Court format. Order, take and pay for normal dishes. Bamboo briyani (lamb shank) was good. meat was melt off the bone type. Rice was moist and full of juice from the lamb shank. It was served as the waiting time is about 15 mins.

Customer service was great. Marketing manager explained to us about the catering, upon request. Chef Syed served us our bamboo briyani personally, and explained to us the uses of the bamboo and certain ingredients.

No GST and Service Charge. Food affordably priced and portions are quite big. Porcini mushroom soup had little mushroom taste. Crispy salmon was not very fresh. Pan seared halibut was tender. gulamelaka panna cotta had a unique texture.

I bought groupon vouchers for Ninety nine bistro in 3rd week of May . I called on Mon 6 Jun to make a reservation for Sat 11 jun and was told I could not use the groupon vouchers during the Ramadan period ( 6 Jun - 5 Jul) as the bistro only served the Ramadan buffet during that period. I was told to book after the Hari Raya Puasa ( 6 Jul). When I called on Thu 7 Jul to book for Sat 9 Jul I was told again that the bistro was closed for the Hari Raya holidays till 10 Jul. So in effect the 2 month period validity of the voucher was reduced to 3 weeks. My question is: Why didn't the bistro declare a black out period when it advertised on the groupon website? It would have spared their customers the frustration and much wasted time. I finally manged to book a reservation for Sat 16 Jul and went there with my family for a meal. We ordered buffalo wings, cheese fries, bbq chicken, soup, compound salad, lamb shank, meat lovers pizza, pasta cabonara, and beef kuay teow. We had had to send back the buffalo wings because they were under cooked ( bloody on the inside). The halibut and chips were below average - fish was not fresh and the batter was too thick. The bbq chicken was too dry , the beef kuay teow overly salty and the cheese fries smoldered with ketchup. Bad food we can forgive but what floored us was the atrocious service. My son asked for water and was told they do not serve water but later on we saw a table next to ours with some elderly people being served water. My daughter -in-law asked a wait staff if there was somewhere she could wash her hands she was gestured to a sink behind the counter but was promptly reprimanded by a chef who came out of the kitchen and told her she had no business to be there. If there was ever a score for service, ninety nine bistro would get a sub minus score.

Food was good but place was quite squeezy. Food could be topped up faster. And tables should not be arranged so close to the buffet area.
