Wonderful food, service and one of our favourite restaurants. Awesome steak and one of the best fries in Singapore!
Punkaj and Jothi service is excellent. This is a fantastic place to dine for their amazing food and excellent service.
The chocolate dessert is as awesome as every time. Punkaj service is warm and friendly.
Food was tasty and the lunch set was worth the money! Recommended to go!
This is a small cozy spanish tapas restaurant located at a quiet corner of Shaw Centre. It is well-staffed with sufficient manpower at front-of-house to ensure a pleasant dining experience without unnecessary long waits. Staff were friendly, efficient and presentable. We tried the GAMBAS AL AJILLO which is de-shelled prawns with fried garlic and olive oil. This dish was so fragrant that I could smell it already when the waitress was still steps away from our table carrying the dish. The prawns were fresh and the proportion of garlic was balanced without overpowering the taste of prawn. I would definitely order this dish again. On recommendation by their staff, we also ordered the Zucchini with a deep-fried batter and scallop/crabmeat stuffing. My dining companion and I couldn't taste any of the scallop in the filling but the crabmeat was a generous portion. The deep-fried batter gave balance to the soft-textured zucchini and crabmeat filling. Overall it was a good dish. Our final dish was PAELLA NEGRA DE MARISCO - squid ink paella with fresh prawns and clams. The paella was awesome. The regular size was good enough for 2 pax. They were generous with the servings of prawns and clams and the paella was extremely fragrant. It wasn't too rich and heavy but yet flavorful. The last time I had paella which really left a great impression was the now-defunct Catalunya's Lobster Paella. I haven't had a good paella in Singapore since then, but this time, La Taperia amazed my taste buds with this dish. Love this place and can't wait to be back again. It's good for cozy and intimate dinner with a date or few friends.
I had an excellent lunch recently with a friend at La Taperia. We picked four items from the la carte menu as we wanted only tapas for lunch. We ordered a tomato salad ( lovely), seafood croquette ( so so I feel) , squid coated in crispy squid ink infused batter ( interesting and quite delicious), sizzling prawns ( very large sized prawns and fairly fresh), all eaten with some toasted bread. The portions were a big too much for the two of us but the dishes were fairly well done. I am impressed with the fact that they paced each dish so that the next dish is served only when we are done with the prior dish. We were well taken care of by a very helpful gentleman ( probably the manager) and his service staff. A very pleasant lunch indeed!
Astounding and warm service. The meal started perfectly when we walked in and the table with 2 baby high chairs were already prepared and in the small alcove. For the rest of the meal, or main server was warm, friendly and very jovial. The food? Top notch. The crustal bread was a little soggy compared to our last visit, but refreshing and an excellent opener. The calamari and the rockfish fritters were yummy crunchy saltiness. The braised beef amazing as usual. The only disappointment was the roast pork, which was quite dry and very porky. Save space for dessert. The chocolate mousse (I forget the name) and the catalan pudding were to die for. Reasonably priced for awesome food, a convivial atmosphere and wonderful service makes this a great place for a weekend family meal or a quiet lunch for 2, both of which I had here. Make a reservation!
The food was superb - we ordered the grilled lamb rib confit which just melts in your mouth. The squid ink paella was very flavourful, and suckling pig had a good mix of tender meat and crispy skin. The duck breast went very well with the butternut puree. The braised short rib was quite interesting, with a hint of chocolate. To top it off, the ambience was good and servers were very attentive and pleasant, as always. They even helped to store our birthday cake and sang the happy birthday song for one of our friends! However, I think we would have done just fine without the churros, it was pretty well done and the chocolate was smooth, but didn't do much to wow us after the nice tasting mains.
This is my 2nd lunch at la taperia. I enjoyed the food n ambience on my first visit ( as a guest) in October n decided to invite 3 family members this second time ..all of us thoroughly enjoyed the lunch experience. Service was good n the dishes recommended were excellent.eg wagyu striploin , iberica pork shoulder%- tender flavourful . The deep fried squid was heavenly for lack of a better word...didn’t look it n we were pleasantly surprised. Not oily at all. Seafood salad & butterhead salad - 👍👍 Suffice to say, I n the members of my group will be back Thank you n kudos to the Chef
The meal was excellent and the service as well. We were only two people so ordered only one hot Tapas that was quite delicious - squid in jambon. Main course was seafood Paella and my companion had a fish stew. Both were very tasty. We started off with two cocktails - they were ok but nothing special. The bloody mary was a bit under spiced for my taste. With the meal had two glasses of 'house' white wine, which was also good. Dessert was some kind of mango brulee and delicious. Altogether, a very pleasant dining experience and for all we ate and drank not too pricey.
