La Pepa

La Pepa is a wonderfully elegant Spanish restaurant serving some of the best tapas we know of in Singapore. It’s one of those restaurants where the food looks as good as it tastes – and that’s damn good, believe us – and the focus of the menu is very much quality over quantity. On Gemmill Lane, not far at all from Telok Ayer MRT or from Chinatown, La Pepa is a wise choice for any casual occasion. Eat, drink and, most importantly, share a real taste of Spain. It’s quite a new restaurant and hence it’s popular – best to reserve a table in advance.

As said, sharing is arguably the best part about tapas, particularly when it’s Spanish tapas as good as that at La Pepa. With that in mind, head to this stylish Singapore spot on Gemmill Lane with your friends and family and order up as many small plates as your table can fit, along with some carefully-selected wine, of course. After that, savour every mouthful as the warm, and quite rustic buzz of La Pepa makes you feel all nice and fuzzy inside. For us, it’s certainly one of the best ways to spend an evening in Telok Ayer.

From the menu you can expect Spanish dishes in all shapes and sizes, from wholesome roasted chicken through to refined seafood dishes and vibrant Spanish salads complete with prime meats. In fact, one little nibble we’re particularly fond of is the toasta la pepa consisting of cured Spanish anchovies sitting atop marinated piquillo peppers, delicate eggplant and sourdough toast. Irrespective of what you order, however, Telok Ayer’s La Pepa will put a wide smile on the face of every Spanish food lover in Singapore.
