We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing ambience, coupled with fanstasic service. The food in itself deserves top ratings. We ordered the Caribbean Goat Curry and Smoked Cassava Leaf Chicken Thigh dish. Both had a lovely kick to them - my hubby and I are both lovers of spicy food. The ox tongue starter was the best dish of the night! We tried their desserts - carrot cake (one of the best) and nakupenda (deep fried donut with soft serve ice cream sitting atop) and they were mouthwateringly good. We will DEFINITELY return. Special mention to Jonathan, who took care of us. Very charming indeed!
Great as usual. Nice place as always. Good food great music
Great food and overall atmosphere, but service staff could be more attentive to diners' basic needs.
Love the ambience and food! Staffs were so friendly and had casual conversations just like friends. I’ll come with friends again!
We ordered the fried plaintain and a few of the meat curries for dinner which were all great! The drinks were also very tasty. The cauliflower salad was a bit meh, as was the service. They could definitely be friendlier. One of the waiters brought someone else’s dish to our table and when we told him it wasn’t for us he just rolled his eyes and walked off. If not for the lukewarm service I’d have given it full stars. Kudos to the chefs and bar though!
great first visit, and surprisingly great value for money for the Keong S. area. Sat in the outdoor bar area for dinner. House wines were great for a 'house' wine. Some of the main dishes were spicy/hot and probably needed to say so on the menu so that those who can't take a lot of spice are aware of what they're getting into! - that said, i finished my dish even if it was far too hot for me.
Price was above the average cafe, yet serving size was smaller than the average cafe. Even though we knew it was a cafe that serves African inspired food, the taste may not be well-liked by the locals. For us, we would not return for a second round due to their price and taste preference. Nonetheless, it was a bold try and perhaps serving a very niche market in Singapore.
Visited this place with a group of friends, and the ambience was very nice. The decorations were beautiful. But the most amazing thing is the service. The staff were all very nice. But food serving is kind of small so it's just good if you're not that hungry.
The cafe is a Jem. The outlook of the cafe is really well done and it’s really comfortable. The the main thing, the food is so good. The brunch I ordered “Pulled Pork Breakfast” was so well prepared. I loved every bite from the plate.
This is a fun, lively place with beautiful decor. The food is refreshingly different. Our only complaint was the main beef dish was very spicy and we hadn’t been made aware of this when we ordered.
