The food display was lovely, from the appetizers to the main dish, each dish was served at the right pace. The steak was of course standout

The wings were good and well seasoned. The steak was a huge let down. It was so much better when I went more than 6 months ago - back then their steaks were juicy. The one that I had the second time round was disappointing. It was not only cold but it was quite uncooked for medium rare. In some parts, practically raw. The cauliflower had slight mould on it or at least part of it was of a different colour - brown - than what it should have been. I'won't be going back.

Good quality and fine steaks. Ate almost 250 grams of steak. The desserts were good too. Waiters were kind and patient, waiting time was short. Definitely a place for steak lovers and people crazy about food.

Service and food was good. A small, relaxing and quiet place to hang out if you just want to chill. Staff was also nice and friendly.

Food was average. Comfortable environment, great for big groups. Down side is during happy hour if you're trying to use a Groupon, you can't get happy hour prices on beer. Also, they (physically) only had one Asahi beer tower... Not that it's an issue for me because we ordered one at a time. But could be an issue if many tables are fighting for the beer tower.

We bought a groupon deal for $35.80 per pax which includes the soup of the day, any steak or chicken main, any dessert and a half pint of Asahi or Krononbourg Blanc. We wanted to try the Wagyu Rump steak, but unfortunately, we were informed that they had run out of it. So we went with the filet mignon instead. The cream of salmon soup was something different from the usual cream of mushroom or minestrone type of soups and was pleasantly tasty. The broth was savoury and there was a generous portion of salmon chunks in the soup. The filet mignon came with a side of salad tossed with a tangy citrous dressing and a scoop of mashed potato. We ordered 2 medium rare steaks but 1 came medium and the other came rare. They were still tender and juicy nevertheless. By the time we reached dessert, we were quite stuffed to truly enjoy the apple crumble and creme brûlée that we ordered. From the few spoonfuls there we had, they were decent but nothing out of the ordinary. It was always to nice to wash everything down with a nice cold beer =)

Had dinner with family. Great location. Food was good and certainly value for money. Steak was great. They have limited but quite good wine selection.

Seeing the $39+ set dinner for 2 offer on the website, we decided to give Cafe Etc a try. Lying along Thomson Road close to many other eateries and restaurants, Cafe Etc was a nice, quiet retreat due to its lack of a crowd on a Friday night. Perhaps we were there a little early at around 6.30 pm. The place a clean and spacious thought our area was a little warm at the start. When we enquired about the set dinner offer, we were told by one of the servers that the promotion was no longer available. However, a senior staff member said that they would be willing to honour the deal since it was still on the website and that we have come because of that. The set dinner included 2 soups of the days, a main of the striploin steak, any pasta, any fish or any chicken main and 2 lemon teas. We ordered a striploin and a chicken confit. The striploin steak was nicely seasoned and had a nice even sear on the outside and remained tender and juicy. It came with a side of mash potato and mesclun salad. The confit was crispy on the outside but still tender and juicy inside, with the meat falling easily off the bone for easy eating. The food is quite decent and the service staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place worth trying if you like somewhere quiet with a decent steak.
