Bistro@Duo is one of those places that really hammers home why Singapore is on the world stage when it comes to dining. This chic and opulent restaurant specialises in connecting guests over expertly-mixed cocktails, fine wine, chargrilled mangalica and plenty of international dishes. With unique lava rock grills that allow the steaks to be seared to absolute perfection adding a mouthwatering smoky flavour that tingles those taste buds just right – this is a must visit restaurant for visitors and locals, alike. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or you’re just after a casual night with pals and a game of beer pong, Bistro@Duo in Singapore has got you more than covered. You’ll find this cool spot on Fraser Street’s Duo Galleria complex in Bugis.
As we mentioned, Singapore’s Bistro@Duo specialises in authentic mangalica. For those of you who aren’t too sure what that means exactly – mangalica is a rich, highly marbled wild pig which is generally red with creamy white fat. It’s one of the fattiest pigs around, and as a result, the meat is considered to be some of the most delicious pork in the world. And boy, does Bistro@Duo know how to cook it. While mangalica takes centre stage on the menu at this Bugis restaurant, you’ll also find plenty more international offerings for feasting on – think pasta, lobster, burgers and lamb racks. Feeling enticed, yet?
So, let’s take a look at Bistro@Duo’s menu... We advise kicking things off with some starters to share such as Bistro’s tiger prawns cooked in brandy, chilli and garlic or the signature mangalica starter served with dips and a portion of truffle fries – all of which are ideal to enjoy in between some rounds of beer pong. Then, for seafood fans, the fresh clams or whole lobster is a must, while pork lovers should definitely order the famous mangalica steak. With plenty more besides, including an inspired spaghetti vongole and a wine list that up there with the best in Singapore, Bistro@Duo on Fraser Street in Bugis is a food lover's haven. Food is good, steak is easy to chew, even for the fat and the service is quick even though there are only 3 waitstaff. Price is reasonable for what you get too!
Nice place to chill for dinner, the people there are friendly. The waitresses are attentive to our needs and gave us some recommendations when we don't know what to order.
Food was pleasant, service was great! Will return for the Mangalica Pork for sure!
Very nice food and good environment, service is good, highly recommended. Parking can be a problem though I didn’t try to park within the building.
Would say good food, but mushroom soup abit sour due to the amount of vinegar in it, the mangalica pork and pan seared barramundi is good. Would come back to eat again but seems like the place is understaffed (reached at 12+ on Saturday but the place has not set-up the table completely), thus the service is quite slow and requires improvement. Ambience is great thou.
Overall the experience was ok. However, one bugbear was the absence of french fries in a dish, which the service staff did mention they had run out of, but I was wondering how could they run out of something like french fries so early during the week! Nevertheless, the food i had was average, and they did offer a complimentary soup for us, so it was nice of them to do that.
Service is prompt and the staff are very friendly! The spanish pork was very tender, a surprise indeed as most pork chop tends to be hard and dry.
Went there for their Mangalica pork set lunch promotion. Good value for money. Appetiser, main course, and dessert were all done very well. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Nice quiet ambience in this coffee house and attentive service from the staff. Love the Magalica pork recommended to me, which is so tender, a must try!
The overall ambience, food and service are good except for the desserts. The presentation is messy and the lava cake and ice-cream are too sweet and they do not compliment each other.
