More about Amò, Singapore

Singapore has a whole host of exciting dining experiences, and now there’s a new spot to add to the list… Housed in an old 1950s warehouse, Amò in Hong Kong Street is a brand new Italian restaurant and bar with exposed brick walls and vintage mosaic floor tiles retained from the original building. Amò also has an outdoor courtyard that can seat up to 40 guests dining al fresco under the Singapore sky with a huge hand-painted wall illustrated by local artist Venetia Stravens. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are welcomed into an all-Italian bar serving fantastic drinks and cocktails, with a cocktail menu comprised of refreshing coolers and spritzes, as well as over 20 different wines available.

A lot of thought has gone into Amò’s carefully-crafted food offering, with an emphasis on sharing plates and fresh produce. And the menu itself is truly a sight to behold, with decadent dishes like spaghettoni with Boston lobster and tarragon or pizza with bone marrow, wild garlic pesto and anchovy salsa verde on offer. There’s no doubt that this Hong Kong Street joint is going to become a firm favourite of anyone living around Clarke Quay! Make sure you book in advance to ensure you get a seat at Amò.

Amazing service, the bartenders are the absolute best! Food was great, lives up to the italian standard. The mushroom truffle pizza is a must try

The dining experience was excellent from start to finish. We were early so we started dinner at the bar, where the bartender recommended a cocktail featuring gin infused with earl grey. they were nice enough to let me have a taste of the gin in its original form and it was rough! The early grey smoothed and mellowed the gin out massively and gave it a distinct taste. The food and the wine pairing recommendaiton was excellent, and the whole dining experience was elevated by a wonderful waiter - Alex. Molto bene!

The restaurant Amo' looks lovely. It has a great atmosphere, good service. It has a great bar section too which allows to comfortably have a drink while waiting for friends or a table but...The food wasn't my kind. The presentation was nice but I don't think I will be back. We had burrata (nice but pretty average) and a tartare (could have been better) to share. The octopus dish was incredibly small, one of us had fregole with cod (way way too much butter in the fregole) and a pizza which was pretty terrible (soaked in tomato sauce and this didn't allow the dough of the pizza to cook properly). One of us had some pasta which I haven't tried and one of the ingredients was very kindly changed by the stuff to accommodate his food restrictions. I think they should improve their food. Again a pity as the restaurant atmopshere/look and the service were good but I am italian and I am not coming back for the food anytime soon. I should add the dessert brought the level slightly up.

We arrived early than our reservation time. The restaurant was empty at 6pm. People start coming in around 7pm. The atmosphere was quite good. We were able to get a corner table as requested in our reservation instructions. We ordered truffle pizzaz. It was a healthy version of pizza with a lot of mushrooms on top. The steak was ok nothing special. What really impressed us was the chocolate tart. It was so smooth and rich in flavor. Better than those in cake shops. Overall we felt that all the food served was not warm enough.

This place is a GEM! 💫SIMPLY AMAZING Italian food with a lovely ambience to dine in. I would recommend the pizza which was baked in a wood-fired oven and thus giving the slightly charred flavor to the crust. The grilled sea bass which was served with casserole was absolutely divine too! Do request for outdoor seating if you don't mind non-air conditioned. The courtyard is beautiful :)

Had the mushroom pizza and it was really good! Dough was soft and chewy and just so full of flavour. Portions I would say were pretty substantial for 2 people. Only negatives were that I found the acoustics in the restaurant to be really bad. Especially when there was a big group nearby laughing and talking loudly, it made it really difficult to enjoy the dinner. Also service seemed rather hectic and stressful with people rushing around.

Though the banana tiramisu did not have any hint of banana, its the only tiramisu in Singapore with alcohol. However, its slightly expensive ($18) and had a bit too much cream. The truffle mushroom pizza was outstanding. Not only does it taste good, the pizza is crispy on the outside and the dough has bite on the inside. Best pizza i had in Singapore! I will certainly be back and order the 2 abovementioned dishes. Cheers!
