The service was great and food was good. Though we found a piece of plastic in their soup but they apologised and offered to replace the soup with a new one. We declined but they gave us complementary truffle fries without us asking! Was a good experience overall

Service was prompt, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I found the weekend dinner set very affordable (from $26.90++) for the type of food served, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend Platypus Kitchen to others!

Went to Platypus Kitchen for lunch on a Saturday, the place was quite crowded but pleasantly not that noisy. I quite enjoy the look of the place with black wall and ceiling with a woody tone that gave a warm feeling and bright big windows that overlook the street. We ordered 2 mains, a dessert and 2 cocktails. The first main was Crab and Prawn spicy pasta (not the proper name on the menu) generous crab meats, 3 big succulent prawns furthermore the highlight was the sauce that has this intense seafood flavor to it, while the freshly made pasta would depends on personal preference for al dente. The second main was Roasted chicken with rosemary and Garlic (again not the proper name), the chicken was crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside added with a strong infusion of garlic and rosemary flavor. the salad on the side was nothing to mention, but the fries that comes along with the dish is noteworthy, so flavorful. They have this on going promotion of $6 for the 1st cocktail order that we decided to give a try. We ordered Pink Sojutini which was on the sweet side and very mild on the alcohol content and also ordered Strawberry dust that has a decent rum kick and a well balance sweetness from the strawberry puree and bitterness from the cacao powder. The only item that we considered a miss that day was the dessert. We ordered the Chocolate lava cake, we did not appreciate the texture of the outer cake and also a rather bland scoop of Vanilla ice cream, although the intensity of the chocolate was alright. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch and we would be more than happy to frequent the restaurant. Although we will be doing that on a dinner service since their full menu is only available after 5pm.

Always loved their food there, reasonably priced with good service. If you haven't been there, do try there specialty bowls. Truffle and Beef is always a winner.

Good food and reasonable price! The atmosphere is pleasant with interesting cards to play and chat with, encouraging real conversations and not phone indulgence! Highly recommended!

Be prepared you hair & clothes smell like oil fumes. Its a open kitchen thus you will smell like food after walking out. Food is yummy! Ordered the set dinner.

Food was delicious with a fairly generous portion. The staff were all attentive and quick to respond. A pleasant dining experience overall. I would recommend making a reservation beforehand.

Ordered spicy diablo prawns and crabmeat pasta - was very good. tasty with interesting hint of lemon taste. Only abit creamy and slightly spicy - good for me as I don't like creamy sauces and can't take much spiciness. Generous crab meat. Partner ordered the beef ragu, also tasty but more common. Shared a sweet potato poutine - nice and crispy, liked the bacon bits but not the sour cream. Reasonable pricing for food. Like the "1st drink @ $6" promo also. Cocktail selection seems to be all sweet cocktails, would like to see a wider variety. Prompt and friendly service.

the staffs were unattentive. we had to call out to them several times before we can manage to get their attention. the food were overall good. however truffle fries do not really have the truffle taste.

I would rate the truffle fries as 3/5 only. Overall the service staff are helpful except one or two but nothing to fuss over abt. Food is avg only and will I come back again? Maybe but not in the near future.

The service was prompt and good. I had the lobster roll which was rather mediocre. Portion size was good though, and it came with yummy fries.

Still one of my favourite places to bring friends for a meal - used to go once a month. Food-wise, aglio aglio has too much garlic and duck confit needs to be more tender and less salty

The wide variety of food in the menu was a surprise to us. Every food ordered by 5 of us was deliciously good especially the duck confit and chicken wings. The staff were patient with us as we had made numerous requests for iced/warm water. I will definitely recommend Platypus Kitchen to my families & friends!

Food was good and reasonably priced. Went with the 4 course meal and our food arrived very promptly. Can't say the same for the couple seated next to us though as theirs arrived only after we were done with our desserts.
