I had my birthday celebration with my husband at Garibaldi on 6th Mar 2016, evening time. I have called to book for a corner sitting of two, at 7pm but I could not make it, reschedule my timing to 7.30pm and the receptionist was very friendly, changed my timing immediately. There is a complimentary car park valet for us and we do not need to find a parking lot for it. Requesting a for corner sitting was noted and we have our privacy dinner on that night. Complimentary bread was served to us but with only two selections. The dishes we had, Neapolitian style baked eggplant, cauliflower soup, New Zealand Lamb Tenderloin, lobster meat Gnocchi and a complimentary Tiramisu birthday cake surprised. Over all the dishes were great but i do not really like the Lobster with Gnocchi(wrapped in a dough skin) as i find it too floury and bland. The Tiramisu is great and the deco is beautiful. Superb quality of ever-flowing food at brunch which they offer from 11.30am to 3pm on Sat and Sun. There's a set menu of items which they serve in order but you can ask for more of anything you like as and when your palate desires. Oysters were ocean fresh, plump and juicy. Loved all the pastas, especially the chickpea gnocchi in arrabiata sauce, and beef with truffled mash was pretty awesome too. Tad pricey at $78++ with soft drinks, and $108++ with beer, wine and proseco but well worth the quality. Be sure to eat and drink your fill!
Enjoyed the service. The Hokkaido scallops w truffles amd the dough w Parma ham were awesome starters. The risotto was abit undercooked, pasta was al dente. Generally the seafood , for both our risotto and pasta were not naturally 'sweet' and needed to depend on the sauces to flavour them. Dessert was Tiramisu. It was mainly cream, thus the alcohol and coffee taste was lacking. Food portions were generous. Other than the appetisers, the food was reasonably well executed but can be easily mimicked in most Italian restaurants or better cafes. Overall experience was still lovely and enjoyable.
Nothing is wrong with the restaurant: food, drinks, atmosphere, decor, service - all at very high level...ingredients are top notch, the staff knows how to explain, and the taste of the dishes is as promised: innovative yet classy, with very pleasant surprises..for myself, the location not being in a mall, hotel or residential, high-end neighborhood is a strength (it is actually almost next to the Raffles, not too bad, right..)..being in a 'rusty, gritty, traditional urban' environment which feels authentically Singaporean..
It's my second time here within a month and still absolutely loves it! THe brunch menu had changed (according to them, they change every week), some dishes remained. Although I still like the previous menu that I had but this time is not bad too. I really love the quality food and the lovely atmosphere, polite waiters and waitresses, absolutely good service. This will be marked in my #1 place and I can foresee myself keeps coming back time to time.
This restaurant was recommend by a business associate, it did not disappoint. We received a nice warm welcome, followed by a fantastic meal, so much so we returned again on our third night out of three in Singapore before we boarded our cruise liner. The second visit we met the owner who is totally passionate about his restaurant. 'His baby'!!! Wishing you continued success with a great restaurant!!! Doubt there is a better Italian in Singapore?
