Platypus Cantina - Bugis

I ordered the lobster roll, truffle carbonara and crustacean bowl. Everything was absolutely amazing and as expected as I've read a lot of good reviews about it. For the seafood dishes, there weren't any unpleasant seafood taste. That's a bonus. The carbonara was exquisite w the hint of truffle. Nothing like I've tried before. There was nothing that I didn't like about the food or the ambience. Even the cocktail (soju secret agent) was really good. Total spent was SGD93 and I definitely would come back here again!

nice food, but soup was served lukewarm. Would taste better if it was hot. Background music was really loud....... chill man, it's a restaurant not a bar. Overall it isn't too bad :)

Nice place and good pricing, staffs are friendly and helpful. Will go there again because is very close to Bugis MRT, lots of car park around for those who are driving and shopping mall.

We visited with 4 people. Online reservation was smooth. Got even a confirmatory call back reminding me that the table will be reserved for 10 minutes. Service was friendly, food was good. We waited quite a bit to order our food and it took time to arrive but the restaurant was fully occupied. Would go there again if I am in the area.

Food of excellent quality promptly delivered to the table after you order. Definitely worth a try. I will return for the beef chilli fries here!

Onsen pasta is good. I do like the set dinner menu. Happy hour promotion was great to try out their variety of cocktails. I have a big group n they allocated us to a corner which was great to catch up. Will visit again.

Pumpkin soup, wings, salmon ikura and the ribeye were really good and I'd be back for more! The diablo pasta, ice cream and lava cake was more of a miss though :/

Good food. Nice ambience:) Staff are friendly. Would hope menu has more photos to showcase the food. The pasta and roast chicken are the must-trys!

had the 3 course set dinner. food tastes great but the portion is quite small. might have to get extra main for big eaters

Food is delicious and was served VERY FAST. Love the Strawberry Dust cocktail, especially at $6 thanks to the lobang token. Asia sliced beef salad is yummy! Beef was not too tough, medium cooked.

It's always a comfort place to satisfy my craving. Love it.

The weekday dinner set was well worth the affordable price (and delicious), service was fast and staff was attentive. First time diner but will definitely be back again.

Good environment, nice food and very good overall experience. Waiting time for the food was rather fast, didnt feel much delay at all. And also thanks to the free slice of cake for birthday celebration

Food are nice, nice ambiance, not so crowded sunday afternoon. Had a great lunch time with girlfriend. Only thing is that the food in ala carte menu are a bit pricey.

Very good restaurant with fine quality food for a good value. The service is a little slow and please eat on the outside if you don't want noise.

The waiter kept getting the orders wrong, but I have to say that the service was pretty good. Would visit again to try the other dishes.

Went on a friday evening at 630pm. was promptly ushered to the reserved table and showed me the menu while waiting for my friends. But staff didnt ask if i wanted any drinks while waiting. Had the lobster roll for the first time but didnt seem to taste much lobster. Spicy chicken wings were more superb! Paid about $36 a person without alcoholic drinks.

Efficient and pleasant service from the staffs there. They will call a few hours before to make remind us of our reservation and double confirm.

Crustacean bowl had nice complexity to its taste and the Rosemary chicken was tender and juicy. I'd also give it a 6 for service because the waiter was really polite when I had questions about their lava cake =)

Ordered the crustacean bowl and wings which were good! Sweet potato fries could do with more sour cream/ bacon. Took some time to get the waiter's attention to get the bill. Overall, still good! Will visit again!

great service and great follow up with my reservation. prepared the place as requested with baby chairs. the food was awesome. I ordered sundried pesto pasta.

The environment is good to support the dine in. Good location at heart of Bugis Junction. The meals are good as per standard as it suppose to be.

Overall good but lava cake was a bit too melted

Serving is fast. Food is delicious. Staff is attentive and helpful. Drinks are not expensive. But the food is A little bit overpriced. I don't like the music which is too noisy. Overall is worth my visit. Good choice for after work.

Had the set lunch, which had good value but taste could have been better.

All dishes were rather tasty. Chicken was especially tender and juicy. Loved it and would be more than willing to return to the restaurant again

My mum, dad, and I headed there for dinner on a Sunday. My mum had the duck confit, my dad ordered the sous-vide steak, and I chose the dinner set menu so we could all share the appetizer & dessert. I chose the pumpkin soup, the ribeye & truffle bowl, and the pannacotta. We all agreed the pumpkin soup was yum, while the mains could've fared a bit better. My mum's duck confit was salty (the meat and the gravy provided), and the duck was a tad overcooked. My truffle bowl was good, but again, the sauce was salty. My dad's steak was good. The fries were great! Last but not least, the pannacotta. The berry sauce was way sour, but the pannacotta itself was smooth. My dad found it a bit sweet though.

Went to Platypus Kitchen for lunch on a Saturday, the place was quite crowded but pleasantly not that noisy. I quite enjoy the look of the place with black wall and ceiling with a woody tone that gave a warm feeling and bright big windows that overlook the street. We ordered 2 mains, a dessert and 2 cocktails. The first main was Crab and Prawn spicy pasta (not the proper name on the menu) generous crab meats, 3 big succulent prawns furthermore the highlight was the sauce that has this intense seafood flavor to it, while the freshly made pasta would depends on personal preference for al dente. The second main was Roasted chicken with rosemary and Garlic (again not the proper name), the chicken was crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside added with a strong infusion of garlic and rosemary flavor. the salad on the side was nothing to mention, but the fries that comes along with the dish is noteworthy, so flavorful. They have this on going promotion of $6 for the 1st cocktail order that we decided to give a try. We ordered Pink Sojutini which was on the sweet side and very mild on the alcohol content and also ordered Strawberry dust that has a decent rum kick and a well balance sweetness from the strawberry puree and bitterness from the cacao powder. The only item that we considered a miss that day was the dessert. We ordered the Chocolate lava cake, we did not appreciate the texture of the outer cake and also a rather bland scoop of Vanilla ice cream, although the intensity of the chocolate was alright. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch and we would be more than happy to frequent the restaurant. Although we will be doing that on a dinner service since their full menu is only available after 5pm.

Food is awesome. It's good for family or friend gathering place. We were also given some complimentary about that waiters who sent food and ordered seem not familiar of the menu.

Food quality and quantity is good. Consider affordable. Service crews are proactive and attentive. However, need to improve on the confirmation of reservation. The restaurant called several times for one reservation. I guess they have confused over it.

Quick service and decent food for the price paid. Tables were a bit cramped together though, so you could hear the conversation between the couple sitting beside you, and vice versa, so maybe not the most private/romantic setting for a date.

The service was great and food was good. Though we found a piece of plastic in their soup but they apologised and offered to replace the soup with a new one. We declined but they gave us complementary truffle fries without us asking! Was a good experience overall

Food was delicious with a fairly generous portion. The staff were all attentive and quick to respond. A pleasant dining experience overall. I would recommend making a reservation beforehand.
