Boasting an unparalleled location along Keppel Bay Vista, Keppel Bay Marina
is home to Takumi, one of Singapore’s most chic Japanese restaurants. Richly
appointed with modern furnishings and decor, Takumi is where diners head when
they are looking for elegant Japanese cuisine suitable for an impressive date or
opulent function. And Takumi’s pedigree is well recognised – it’s ranked in the top 3 Japanese restaurants by Singapore Press Holdings and has won both the Singapore Tatler’s Best Restaurant award two years in a row and Wine & Dine’s Best Service award.
Dear diners, please note that this restaurant will be closed for refurbishment until the end of March, 2018.
If you put a premium on location, the road known as Keppel Bay Vista at
Singapore’s Keppel Bay Marina has to be one of the best places to eat. And if you’re
looking for the best Japanese cuisine, you can’t beat Takumi, a glamorous,
award-winning Japanese restaurant that commands this prime spot. Regularly
topping best Japanese restaurant lists, Takumi serves only the freshest, seasonal
dishes sourced exclusively from Japanese ports and farms. The elegant interior,
fitted out by Chanto Design, befits the quality and authenticity of the food – kimono
and sculptured stone lanterns combine with counters finished in Hinoki cypress
to create a truly Japanese environment. While the communal robata and teppan
counters encourage a lively dining experience, tables, booths and tatami dining
rooms provide a more intimate setting.
Takumi’s menus are true to the restaurant’s classical Japanese ethos. If you’re looking for sushi or sashimi, Takumi’s open sushi counter allows you to watch while Japanese master chef Kenji Okumura nimbly creates his works of art using only the choicest ingredients imported from Japan’s largest fish market, Tsukiji. If you’re eager to dine on the finest Japanese cuisine in a location that offers unobstructed, tranquil views over Singapore’s Keppel Bay Marina, it’s essential that you reserve a table at Takumi.

😁 great service and variety of menu. Needless to say on the quality and environment. However some portions are abit small for the price tag.

I had such a good experience lunching at Takumi so I decided to bring my dad this time to celebrate his birthday and it was the best decision made ever. Not only was the food quality excellent and portion size just right, the service was top notch! Through my reservation at Quandoo, I had requested for a booth seat and simply inquired about getting a cake for my dad. Not only was my request fulfilled, the staff went beyond the extra mile and arranged for complimentary platter of dessert (complete with "Happy brithday" signage and candle) just for him. Thank you Takumi for making my dad's special day even more special!
Fantastic service and food ! We went as a party of three, and I ordered the Omakase for my mother. She doesn't take beef or raw food, but the chef was very accommodating in preparing alternatives for her. The only downside is that for the grilled items (which we grilled ourselves), there were some ash that was expelled by the shichirin stove when some juices from the meat dripped on the charcoal, and some of the ash landed on our food. But otherwise, top-notch food and service.
We (2 pax) were first timers for dinner service but went with managed expectations after reading the online reviews. Place was not that packed despite it being a Valentine Day's weekend. We had sushi and soft shell crab rolls, both are good quality given the price. We also tried the home made tofu which in our opinion, is average at best. Staff were generally attentive and served us promptly without us having to repeat our requests. Worth a visit if you like a quiet place for dinner with the added incentive of walking around the marina to admire the parked yachts after eating.
Takumi was having a special lunch set - the Takumi lunch set, just for the month of September. It cost us $23 (incl service charge + GST) and we got to enjoy a sampling of all the best stuff Takumi has to offer - Garlic rice, Udon, tempura, sashimi, inari sushi and saba! VERY worth it! I highly recommend this high quality lunch set to anyone who looking for variety or who can't decide what to order at Takumi.
Made a booking for a group of friends for a celebratory lunch and was not disappointed. Service was excellent. Takumi was able to accommodate our big group of 9 with comfortable seats (and cushion!). Even though saba fish was not available at that time, the friendly staff was able to advise us on other lunch options. The food quality was also top notched. My friends and I were very pleased with the great food, good service and lovely ambiance.
Restaurant ambience was very good for dinner. We were seated in a booth with cushions so it was a very comfortable and cozy affair. Overall, presentation of food was good and the taste was delicious. Food portions were also just nice. Dinner was also pricier than lunch so it might be better to come for lunch if you want to just enjoy good quality food. However, the restaurant has a Somen noodles event every Mon for the month of September so coming for that would be a very unique dining experience.
