Switzer Alliance have built up a reputation for their impressive catering capacities around Singapore, piling on plates of amazing Asian-fusion food for every event from large-scale corporate gigs to intimate family celebrations. However, few people know that you can taste their delicious Chinese, Singaporean and wider Asian specialties any day of the week at the Switzer Alliance post at Toa Payoh E. Here, in addition to the delicious curry fish head, pork knuckles, salted egg crab, spring onion lobster and seafood rice for which they’re known you can also enjoy a round of pool and towering beers – ideal for a get-together with your mates or a team social event! The only thing to worry about at Switzer Alliance is finding it at a quiet time, so it’s always good to reserve a spot (or several) before planning to go to Toa Payoh.
Food was great, especially the pork rib. Had teochew Orr Need, sweet Yam for desert and was good too. Parking is free. Will visit again
Great cze char. We loved the Butter Cream Chicken, salted egg sotong and the pork knuckle bee hoon. Place is very chill and the people running the restaurant were really friendly.
Good food and wonderful service, value for money. A hidden gem worth visiting
Excellent food with excellent service staff. Friendly staff with good recommendations
Their signature fish head curry which others raved about was a let down. Curry was just lemak, tasted much like laksa. The dish was overloaded with deep fried bean curd strips; would rather have more tau pok which is more flavoursome. Fish meat was a tad hard, hinting to lack of freshness. However, their special bone-in pork ribs, another signature dish (but not on the menu it seems), saved the day. This was delicious with its tender meat coming off easily. Plus a nice rich sauce to go with that. Overall, we had a meal that was surprisingly filling. Total damage was $60 for 3 dishes, including stir fried veg (nai bai) and steamed rice for everyone. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon though. Got many other Quandoo places to try still :-)
We tried prawn paste chicken , pig trotter beehoon and fried vegetables with mushroom. In most zichar, the chicken is not marinated. At Switzer, it is not only flavourful with the prawn paste but crispy. Really yummy. A must try. The beehoon was good and the fried vegetables was great too. Saw someone having curry fishhead. the aroma is!!!. Will try the next time. The staff were very friendly. Surprised to see that the team is very young. Great service! Prices was reasonable. $37 without service charge and no GST!
Quality of food is good, taste is delectable and flavourful. Service is reasonable and friendly. The most important is, the price is affordable. We had chilli crab (2crabs), crab mee hoon and 6 other dishes. All below $300. The crab is fresh and well cooked, much better than some seafood restaurants. We went on sun noon, generally not crowded.
Although the environment is simple and understated, don't be fooled by it! We had great food and fantastic service and will definitely be regular customers there! We brought my relatives to try it out and they loved it too! Kudos to the chef and the team!
Service staff need to be prompted. They seem too busy to serve. However, when u get their attention, they are v friendly and willing to help. Food is pretty decent. Especially like the crab bee hoon. However, some dishes are a tad salty like the fried pork belly and har chiong gai.
Quite happy to discover this location via Quandoo apps but the owner doesn't seem to use it and did not capture my booking at all. We ordered curry fish head and stir fried veg. Both are good, not too salty or oily. Didn't try out any crab dishes during this visit.
