As a British person, the food and experience was very authentic. I will be bringing the rest of the family back to visit next time. Very friendly owner and staff
Rather quiet cafe to have a simple fish and chips, which was pleasant. Had a beer to go with the cod and chips. Nicely done, doesn't really fit the price tag though.
Good food. But need to improve on cleaniness. Service is alright. Quality of the food is what that kept bringing me back to the store.
Chips were soggy, fish was tasteless. Expected better from all the raving reviews. Fish & Chips next door at Waffletown were so much better, and cost half the price. Never returning.
Been here many times before and the standards have always been high. The food here is authentic, and really reminds me of the fish and chips served in the UK
Just about one of the best Fish & Chips I have ever tasted since I left New Zealand in 1977 ! As good as those served traditionally by the Greek Vendors in NZ. Drooling memories.............
Best fish and chips we have had since arriving in Sgp 3 years ago 😀😀 Friendly staff, prompt service and relaxed atmosphere Shame the taxi there and back cost us more than our meals 😜
My favourite has to be the haddock. Better taste and texture versus the cod and halibut. The sausages were good too, but the steak pie was a miss.
Nice food!! The fish was really fresh and the portions are quite generous. The batter is nice and crispy and fluffy too! Tried the haddock and cod fish and both were nice.
Very fresh fish and chips. Worth the money. Go during the St Patricks' Day and there's offers! I enjoyed the crunch chips and the beer battered fish.
The food was great. Our reservation was missed by the restaurant somehow. Fortunately it was not too full and so they could arrange for a table.
The fish and chips are delicious. Big portions and very tasty! The fish was super fresh and the chips done just right. Make sure to try their mushy peas as well!
The haddock tasted better than the cod & was twice larger. Lemon wedges if provided would please some. Salads if available would give healthier choice.
Conveniently located in bukit timah is the best fish and chips in sg, will definitely go back again. Tried their halibut and haddock and chips, two thumbs up.
Average. Probably won't go back though. Reminded me why battered fish is not my favourite way to cook fish. Very quick service and reasonably priced.
The service was excellent. The fish and chips were very good. However, the onion rings were rather oily. On the whole, it was a good dining experience for my friend and I (first timers). We hope to visit again when we can. Cheers!
The best fish and chips I've ever ever had...ordered 2 cod standards coz it's me and my wife's favourite's fish...tried a serving of mars bar...so heavenly sweet chocolatey...my daughter loves the chips...mushy peas was nice and refreshingly new to us but my daughter gobbled it all down and last but not least, pink coleslaw!!! Overall review...I will come back for more if fish and chips pop up in my mind again!!
The experience was everything we hoped it would be. Since Smith's Tanjong Katong branch closed, we thought we'd give Balmoral a shot. Excellent food and friendly service!
Great service. Great restaurant. Great friendly service The best fish and chips I have eaten in a long time, with a very easy booking system.
Friendly owner, delicious fish and chips and a relaxing ambience. While it is a tad pricey, it is a good place to go to satisfy fish and chips cravings!
Service was not pleasant - the Filipino cashier doesn't seem motivated by her job and couldn't care less on taking orders or providing recommendations. She can't even provide ice to go along with the soda saying "We ran out of ice". Fish was a bit hard (perhaps I bought the wrong kind, there were several types of fish available). I dislike the soggy chips but my fiancé loved it - homecook he says. Chicken leg was ok.
very disappointed experience. food quality bellow average. tasteless at all, just a lot of oil. cod fish is not fresh. forget it, don't wast your time and money.
Excellent fish and chips and the portion is generous. Would recommend to try their sticky toffee pudding and chocolate fudge cake as well. Service is reasonably good and staff is attentive to our needs. Worth the visit and my family would definitely come back again.
The food is bland. Its more like a fast food joint with an expensive menu. Will not return any time soon nor recommend friends to patron.
i really want to eat british style fish and chip.and searching here somebody recomment it. smelling of oil in a shop and no queue and cleaning condition very bad too
i ordered a small and it came with generous portion of fat, soft, fluffy potato fries with good size cod fish fillet (they serve haddock and Dory as well). The onion rings were delicious as well. Was well stuffed after the meal.
Good food. in a typically British Fish and Chip Shop. well worth a visit for a treat. Pork pies are also available here. Good portion size and good kids meals too
