For lunch or dinner, NAMI is a smart casual restaurant serving some of the best Japanese food we know of not just in the Orchard area, but all of Singapore. As well, there are a few different ways to dine up on level 24 of the Shangri-la Hotel Singapore, so choose a private dining room (NAMI has two available), the indoor dining area with panoramic views of Orchard or the outdoor terrace perched prettily atop the Tower Wing. Wherever you choose, rest assured that whatever you order from the NAMI a la carte, the sushi counter or any of the regularly changing seasonal menus will be of the highest quality you’ve experienced.
Menus at NAMI Singapore offer quantity as well as quality, so expect a sublime variety of sushi and sashimi, as well as small bites in the way of poached Hiroshima oysters marinated with sesame oil. NAMI speciality dishes, courtesy of head chef Shigeo Akiba, include pan-fried tuna head with sweet soy sauce; steamed NAMI abalone in kimo sauce and miso penshell clam with uni and Ikura. As well as taste, every dish at NAMI is presented so beautifully on the plate that you’ll want to pause and stare before you begin eating. NAMI Singapore is a popular dining option in the Shangri-la Hotel so do ascend to Level 24 with an advanced reservation in hand.
Staff are polite, service was great and the food is of high standard too. I had the beef sukiyaki, the soup may be a bit on the sweet side for some but I like it that way.
Second time here, food can be a bit pricey however ambience and view is great.
