There are more than enough places to pick up a great meal in Singapore, and the quality of the food is never in doubt. The ambience can often be called into question, however, as anyone who has attempted to chow down in a packed hawker centre will know, so when we recommend JIN HO MIA in the Alexandra Retail Centre, you know that you’re in for a treat, especially considering its name translates to a really good life. They offer friendly staff, a chic environment and a contemporary, modern decor that will put you in the perfect state of mind to enjoy the food on offer. The food isn’t shabby either: there are sensational, sizzling hotpot choices as well as a wholesome range of rice bowl dishes all brimming with the freshest ingredients you’ll find anywhere. So do yourself a favour, and take a trip to the Alexandra Retail Centre on Alexandra Road – the nearest train station is Labrador Park – and book a table for some incredible Asian fare.

Nice and quiet place to talk and chill after work. Beer is not cheap, Wish there was more happy hour promotions, but otherwise will come again.

My friends and I had the Alaskan Crab Hot Pot with the fish stock soup base. The food lacked the flavours we were expecting as the entire dish tasted more like a home-cooked instant noodle dish. The seafood was not entirely fresh and the roasted pork became too soft for our liking, contrary to what was described in one of the food blogger's review of the place. "It was our first time having roast pork in a hotpot, but we were pleasantly surprised. The meat soaked up the broth very well, while the crackling skin remained crisp." Overall, not worth a visit for the price paid.

The staff were friendly and the Ah Bou pot was on promo, so it was a good value for money. However i would advise against buying the alaskan crab and abalone, they were tasteless and chewy, probably frozen and cooked multiple times :(

Good price point! Excellent service! Very attentive staff 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 Good selection on soup base. Topping up was easy breezy, service staff came to check diligently every 10- 15min. Awesome place!

Went there for lunch to try out their new rice bowl. I don't think the price is value for money dir the rice bowl. I still prefer their old set lunch western food menu.

Delicious single hotpot. Taste good, environment good, worth it just to TOP up $1 for drink.. service not bad.. but should have more staff during lunch hour..
