On our visit to Singapore, this is one of the places we always book for a fix of Japanese. Delicious
Attentive and Friendly staff. It’s a pity fresh Uni was not available on the date of visit during lunch. Food was not bad! Keep up the good service!
ambience was bespoke, dark and cosy, splendidly designed and perfect for just myself and my buddy to have hours and hours of long lost catch up to do we ordered a portion of finger food of pan-fried ginger strips wrapped beautifully with kurobuta, light seasoned with I guess teriyaki sauce or something? and that was a lovely dish to start of with accompanied by Suntory malt beer on draft...(brought me back to Tokyo for awhile) Next up were a dish of stir-fried free range chicken thigh meat cubes with leek, and it was so savoury we couldn't stop tucking into it. Portion was pretty good for 2 to share. It would be marvellous to eat with a bowl of warm fluffy white rice, be it Thai or Japanese pearlies, but both of us are trying to stay away from white rice for dinner so too bad lol And the last dish of grilled swordfish steak was a tad small but hey, it was amazing with the cheese and seaweed sauce laid nicely on top and I believe it was fired on? I don't know but then I realise it was small for a reason - the sauce was intense and heavenly and meant to be eaten with what your pair of chopsticks can manage to rip off, and it was definitely not large chunks Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere and the interior design. Food was impressive too. Waiting staff were polite and cleared empty dishes promptly and filled our glasses with water whenever we almost emptied them
A restaurant with a seemingly nice decor and layout. Quite a bit of cistomers during the dinner time, but waiting time was avceptable. Food was not too bad.
Excellent food and service! Though a bit pricey, it is really worth it for special occasiona and for smaller groups. Very friendly service as well.
It was wonderful. From the welcoming. The guy with a beard did an amazing job recommending dishes. All dishes we ordered were excellent. Thank you!
Good restaurant with great food. Service was very good. Ambience was abit quiet and music choice abit strange for the night we visited but quality of food was great!
The food and ambience was great, would highly recommend the sushi rolls and swordfish. Prices on the higher side but ok when sharing with a group of people. Service was excellent.
The service was excellent - service with a smile. The staff was attentive, especially Sashi and Nizum. The dishes were very well timed. We did not feel rushed to finish our food. Neither did we have to wait long for the next dish to be served. The food was creative and delicious.
Nice quiet place for Japanese lunch. The chirashi is excellent as is the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Stylish contemporary vibe. The sushi rolls are also worth trying
Very nice and friendly welcome from the staff, we had a lovely time tasting the delicious chief selection. We were sitting at the bar and therefore could enjoy seeing the chief preparing everything for us Lovely evening indeed, even if air cond was a bit too cold for us!
Delicious food, well prepared. Amazing and attentive staff - they had some great recommendations and bought us an extra round of sake. Will definitely come back
Great service, delicious rolls. The restaurant had a nice ambience. Would recommend it to one and all. Will certainly be back again some time soon
Great setting, good music and great food! I Would return again for a special occasion. I loved the interior decor as well - very unique!
Food was meh.. but ambience was good. Love the decor!
Very nice set up along a hip stretch of Club street. Food is excellent. The Uni dishes are a must try. The sake one for one a great deal.
The service level and environment was really good. However, I thought the food was rather pricey. The bar within the restaurant is recommended though, for its ambience and wide range of drink options.
An excellent meal. We had the six course Omakase. Quite pricey but excellent quality and (if you sit at the bar) interesting insights from the chef.
Food is delicious in overall and delivered promptly. Limited range of sake. No option for sake per glass and not able to choose the cups. Price is on high side. Ambience music not matched. More like mid-range priced omakase rather than izakaya.
The food is quite expensive, but it served in high quality. Staffs are helpful and they keep changing water for us without asking.
Quality food n price is reasonable. The restaurant is very cozy too.
Food was great and sashimi was fresh! The server helped us pair our food and recommended complementary appetisers whilst making sure that we didn't get too stuffed.
Not big portion of each dish but excellent meal, taste good, service good as well. A very nice place for hanging out with friends for a night.
It is indeed a hidden gem in the Telok Ayer Area, especially the bar at the back of the restaurant. Overall, good ambiance and food! Not only satisfied the taste buds but the visual as well
The bespoke trout carpaacio is definetly a must to try. Also the chicken karage was excellent. The daily special was mediocre and the service absolutely unattentive, ignorant and not welcoming. Always talking about guest, playing on their phones. Nobody eher talked to us.
Been a customer for 4 years and this time around I’m generally surprised service has dropped a lot and the menu is limiting and not well presented
It was a great dining experience especially we were entertaining a guest who used to live in Singapore for more than 5 years and just came back to attend some business meetings. The Sake recommended was good. The food was awesome. However, the Grilled Asparagus and Shiitake Mushroom was rather salty. Other than that, the rest of the food we ordered was to our satisfaction. Our guest had a good time.
Good ambiance and professional service. Smart surroundings and good decor and atmosphere. Felt the bill of over $80 (no drinks) was on the pricey side.
Great atmosphere and food! Recommend sitting at the bar and soaking in the surroundings and the sake. Lively place and would recommend sharing dishes and small plates.
Loved the bar and the service. I accidentally dropped my chopsticks (managed to pick them up in time before they hit the ground) but the staff changed them for me without me asking. :)
Food and drinks are always good! Unfortunately they increased price for foods by 25-40% which made me hesitate to go back the restaurant as regular as i used to. Cheers!
a good place to chill out after work. food is ok and there is outdoor seating. things that can be improved are service . .
Price on the higher side. Short menu but food is good. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Love the ambience... highly recommended for gatherings with friends over nice food and drinks!
Nice little quiet restaurant, ideal for business lunches, food is excellent, reasonably priced, and service is great and attentive. Highly recommended. will certain return soon.
Great service and excellent food, loved the crunch roll and Uni roll, presentation of food was lovely and taste even better. Will be back to try other items on menu
The food is good with nice ambiance. Love the selection of Japanese rolls. Did not try the acclaimed Wagyu Truffle Don, perhaps next time. With regards to the drink, the bespoke cocktail (from Cache) is decent but not entirely impressive.
Japanese modern izakaya with twist and style. We enjoyed all dishes. Yozu sparkling is refreshing. Their backroom offers sofa seating while the front room offers more casual high chair seating.
Simple Japanese izakaya food (kaarage, kakuni, sashimi, etc) with playful twists. Decent ambience. Closest competitor in the area is probably Lolla. Great for a simple meal. Food is value for money.
Good service and cosy joint. Nice bites and sides. Went during lunch but it's an izakaya bar afterall so slightly limited lunch main course options.
Dinner experience was great. Service staff were very attentive. Food was wonderful as well. I had the nokke roll, it was fresh and izy definitely did not scrimp on the ingredients! Ambience was nice as well.
Good service and interesting food. Ambience was cozy and relaxed too. Selection of drinks was also sufficiently wide. Overall a good experience and will return again
Excellent food with promising food quality although the prices are towards the high side. Ambience is great and service staffs are very friendly and attentive.
Excellent in every way. Try to sit at the back bar and watch the barkeep mix your cocktail. He's an artist. The food is superb-my favorites are the foie gras and the crab croquettes.
The swordfish dish is awesomely prepared , the sashimi toro is very fresh too. The overall the ambience is relatively pleasant. The alcohol is abit pricey, we had the cheapest sale on the sake on the menu. It taste good. I feel that it's more suitable for small groups dinner date.
Slight pricey but food was amazing and made up for the price. Their Wagyu Truffle bowl is a must try - served with truffle slices!
Good food above average ambience, slightly pricier than expected. Attentive service, enjoyed the complimentary kalpis soft drink. Would return again had a good time at
The atmosphere was great, I had hotate sashimi and it was v. Fresh! Thumbs up for their wagyu truffle don. Great service overall. Will come back and dine again!
Great food. Great service too. Cool setting. Could have the music a tiny bit louder and the tables not so far apart as we felt a little bit like being in an empty restaurant instead of full.
Really great food. We went for lunch and got set lunch menus and also ordered from the a la carte menu. highly recommend the rolls and Wagyu truffle don!
It was my first time there, ambiance was fantastic, room temperature is nice, staff are friendly and attentive. Me and my friends love the food. Definitely a great experience
