Fine French cuisine in Singapore doesn’t get much better than Grignoter by Chef Justin Quek on Teck Lim Road. Despite being located in Chinatown, this Bordeaux Wine Bar represents traditional French cooking at its very best – simple yet stylish, and full of flavour. Open Monday through to Saturday, Grignoter by Chef Justin Quek’s menu features fantastic lunch and dinner options, as well as little nibbles to accompany a few glasses of wine with friends. Book ahead to ensure you get a table at this popular wine bar!
For fine French dining with a relaxed atmosphere in Singapore, look no further than Grignoter by Chef Justin Quek in Chinatown. We recommend starting things off with the Japanese Yellowtail Carpaccio, served with fresh grated fennel and lemon vinaigrette. The French duck foie gras confit served on melba toast is also out of this world. For mains at Grignoter by Chef Justin Quek, you simply have to order the Blanquette de Veau-braised veal with white truffle cream sauce or the charcoal grill Steak Frites for a truly French culinary experience. Then, if you have any room for dessert you can go one of two ways – order the cheese board to share, or go full greedy guts with the JQ Floating Island served with caramelised crispy rice, raspberry coulis, praline and vanilla sauce all to yourself! Grignoter by Chef Justin Quek’s concise menu manages to incorporate all that you would want in a French wine bar. And while, Singapore’s Chinatown is a hub of activity, this serene oasis of calm on Teck Lim Road will soon become your new favourite spot!
Excellent lunch menu and wine selection. Prices are very reasonable. The Touché system that used for payment is also an absolute marvel. No more cards or paper just your fingers 👍🏻
Restaurant seems to be at full capacity but service standard did not fail. Eric and colleague took care of my group well. Dinner was pretty good too.
Great food & excellent service at reasonable price. Will be back, maybe not driving & order wine by bottle instead of by glass .... ：）
The restaurant is nicely fitted out. The cooking is very much in the style of Chef Justin and was truly fine dining. The service was brilliant. I did not pay but I saw the price tag and I would not call it cheap. I would have expected to pay that for Chef Justin's restaurant. The restaurant was rather empty the day I went and that was surprising.
Food fine but a bit expensive as portion is quite small. Service is attentive and good but to request for additional tip on top of the 10% service charge can be considered a bit stretch...
Really enjoyable appetisers and desserts. Highly recommend the fluffy egg caviar, scallops and the chocolate and mint soufflé. Cote de boeuf was value for money and alright.
Food was great, dishes all look good and set lunch was value for money. Only gripe was it took a while for food to arrive.
Enjoyed the quality food and the service. But approach was somewhat cold, somehow there was a lack of warmth and soulfulness amidst the supreme efficiency of the experience.
