Mookata-style dining (from the Thai mu kratha, ‘pork pan’) is all the rage in Singapore, with Thai steamboat barbecue restaurants popping up all over the city. For those in the Macpherson area, a visit to Aroy Mak Mookata is unmissable. You can easily reach the restaurant’s MacPherson Road address from Tai Seng MRT and, once there, indulge in a mookata feast that’s been given a twist thanks to the proprietors understanding of the cuisine of Chiang Rai, northern Thailand. Aroy Mak Mookata’s pork belly and sliced pork comes particularly recommended, and with prices like this it’s the kind of place that you’ll want to reserve to avoid disappointment.
Food is shiok max max love it the chiang Mai chicken is the best
Second time coming here. Food was okay. Service was good too. However, will be great if there was some drinks to be included in the freeflow, example water.
Staff were very efficient and service was very fast too. All of the staff were extremely friendly and we really enjoyed the food and soup broth tasted rich and yummy! Will be back again!
Nice experience with good food and service would recommend definitely
Great food and great crowd. We got there on time and a table was ready for us. The meats were well marinated and they were not stingy with the portions. Always a Favourite to go back to
Decent food, helpful staffs :) price was reasonable too. However one of the staff was a little unfriendly but the rest were all nice. A few of our orders were mixed up but all in all the food made up for it
Everything is good. Especially the chilli. Not quite spacious as next door stove was giving out smoke that irritated my eyes. Service was okay but needed to wait for the poor young girl to take the next order as the rest of the aunties just know how to give command.
Restaurant was clean, brightly lit and air-conditioned. We enjoyed the free drink and salted egg dip promotion by liking and sharing their Facebook page. Some of the meat was too fatty though, and the seasonings could be nicer
There are many hidden costs.. eg. For premium add $8 but can only choose certain item once.. the staff do not know how to explain the additional item or how the 1 for 1 drink works . the tom yum soup too salty after cook for a while..iced water not free flow even though you paid for the water..
Food quality and taste am good overrall, drinks are at 1 for 1 deal. However do take note that the normal menu does not include beef in it, for the beef lovers, you would need to top up another $8 for the premium menu
