From the spongy pizza breads of Tuscany to wafer-thin Roman crusts, from Napoli’s soft and foldable bases to the deep dishes of Chicago, from puffy Greek pastry-like pizzas to glazed calzone cases, the intricacies of preparing pizza dough are hard to comprehend. Luckily for those in Singapore, though, 8 Pizza is about as far along as anybody. This trendy Novena hotspot on Thomson Road prepares different doughs in different ways, including cold-fermented and hand-kneaded. Unsurprisingly for a place that cares this much about the preparation, the final product is superb, with just as much time and care devoted to sourcing ingredients, creating workable combinations (from the Italian classics to some carefully curated taste and texture balances) and presenting them beautifully. Oh yeah and that’s just the pizza – did we not mention? Hand-cut fries with truffle bearnaise sauce, chilled pasta with salmon roe, hot pasta with smoked duck or pulled pork – those are just a few other options.
This new pizza place is perfect for those who love Italian food and are looking for an affordable yet tasty option. Super nice staff and atmosphere!
Pizza took about 20 mins to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The base was so tasty and soft. Would be perfect if the toppings were a bit more generous.
There's some confusion with regard to the booking, they couldn't locate my reservation, luckily the restaurant wasn't full, hence they were able to accommodate to arrange a table for us.
