The most recent visit came as a shock to me - customer service was bad. The staff looked like they were forced to report to work. Was asking one of the older staff for a table which could cater 2 baby chairs and 2 adults and he simply said "Go and choose whichever table you want". Verbally, it sounds ok, but if you were there, you would slightly appalled by his lacklustre attitude. Food-wise was ok; you cant go wrong with the usual prawn and hire set. Cashier's attitude was bad too - no smile nothing, she made us wait for a few minutes with no indication until we had to ask if we could proceed with payment. Could be my last time there.

Food was good, service was decent. Recommended. But ambience can be improved as most things are abit worn out (old table and chairs)

Went to the Takashimaya outlet as the Tampines outlet has closed and I was in the Orchard area. As usual, the food was yummy. Their standards are consistent.

Excellent tonkatsu as usual :) Freshly ground sesame seeds add a nice touch to the sauce dip. And free flow cabbage and rice make for a satisfying meal that's not so oily. Highly recommend Tonkichi for those seeking authentic quality Japanese deep fried pork!

Good food but the cleanliness of the place is getting worse. Crumbs on seats, hairs in menus and oily tables. My boy knocked a bowl of soup onto himself. While we cleaned hkm up and wiped the baby seat, the lady staff simply stacked the baby seat for re-use without cleaning properly.

There is a chinese lady staff service is not welcoming. However, food is consistently good.

I have visited tonkichi for close to 8 years, and would say tonkichi offers the best tonkatsu in town!

Restaurant was pretty quiet at 7 PM on a Wednesday night. Food is pretty consistent.

The server was very friendly and polite. They were very accommodating as well. Bright in our own birthday cake to celebrate my son's 3 yet old birthday and they initiatively brought in small plates for the cakes. Thanks for making this celebration a success one for my son.

Standard of food has been well maintained over the years. Well done. But noise level was a bit high due to higher number of kids dining with family (but this is not a show stopper after all it is a family restaurant)
