The Malayan Council - Esplanade

The food is delicious, especially love the hummus and salmon taco. The ambience is fantastic with a great view. Service is good too and we even gotten some extra cakes complimentary on the house. A great place to entertain and celebrate with friends and family.

There was only 2 staff actively serving a rather full restaurant at the timing we were there so a little bit difficult to catch their attention and they did forget things but were apologetic when it happened so all is still awesome. Flavourful food, good presentation, nice-ish atmosphere, got a free slice of cake (quite typical of TMC 🤗 which is always appreciated).. we ordered 2 so got 3 for sharing with 6adults so still too much food as always but stomach full and satisfied is the way to go, celebrating special events (that day was birthday). Having a musollah there will always be the trump factor that we will come again especially since there is little to negativity with this location and food!

It was a beautiful experience. Celebrating my wedding anniversary. Appreciate the gesture of serving the delicious ondeh ondeh cake with ice cream. Sweet treat to end the beautiful day

Everything was good. If want to point out which was not good enough is only 2 staff serve the customers in whole restaurant, and the table was too small especially we order a lot of food.

Our server was a very pleasant man, I am sorry I didn’t get his name. He was always checking up on our table. I am not sure whether he notices that my daughter was a special needs, but he was consistent, never did he sigh or showed attitude when clearing our table. Overcrowded - Cold Food - Long wait with no explanation - uncommunicative staff with no service recovery attempted

My recent visit to The Malayan Council at The Esplanade was nothing short of delightful. I was there with a group of six, and we were all impressed by the experience. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were always filled and our needs promptly addressed. The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the food. We went straight to the main courses, which were delicious and beautifully presented. Our selections included The Curry Seafood Risotto, Halibut Lemongrass, Chicken Percik, and Smoked Duck Chili Padi. Each dish was flavourful and satisfying. A special thank you to the team at The Malayan Council for their generous hospitality in serving a complimentary plate of their famous and a MUST-TRY Classic Ondeh-Ondeh Cake. We also had the Stickydate Pudding, both of which were the perfect ending to our meal. Overall, our lunch meeting at The Malayan Council at The Esplanade was an awesome one. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a charming setting made it one to remember. Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to enjoy a good meal with friends, The Malayan Council is a top choice. Highly recommended! The waiter and waitress were wonderful. It’s the food- reality did not meet the expectation. Food was cold and the chicken had a weird smell and the satay gravy was sourish and the bangers mash wasn’t great. We hardly ate our food. Of course price was high and the taste was bad. First time visit. Food was good and well-prepared. Portions were generous. I would have preferred that my daughter got her food at the same time as others. It would have been nicer that way rather than being done before she starts. We could have all waited. Negative part of the experience. You should have more options for desserts.

The place was literally empty during lunch. The service was great and we didn't feel rushed. The staff topped up our water frequently and was attentive. The food was delicious and serving was pretty large. We had such a good time, I think we stayed for almost 3 hours. Great place to hang out for lunch with friends.
