Pondok Jawa Timur has a very good value-for-money set lunch menu. Although the signature dishes aren’t on that menu, the items are tasty and good for the wallet too

Iftar with a friend. I love their Nasi Kuning Komplet, Soup buntut and the complimentary ice chendol was a delightful surprise. Staff were friendly.

Ordered the Complit set with the Signature Rendang Beef and Fried Chicken. Both tasted a little too dry. The yellow rice and sambal was great. In general it was ok. Still recommended but wished the meats are less dry.

I've followed it from when it started at Far East Plaza, went to Plaza Singapura, then North Bridge Road and now, back to Far East Plaza. Consistently good. Wish they would bring back Bali ikan - it was the best fish dish ever.
