Nanjya Monjya Waterfront

Food was not tasty and had poor service attitude from one of the older waiting staff when we requested for the staff to help with the meal preparation who gave us a dirty look for our request. In contrast, the younger lady who helped us with cooking the food was very lovely and friendly. I have been to other okonomiyaki restaurants and the service and taste of food was far pleasant than Nanjya’s. Given that the prices of the food at Nanjya’s are higher, I would expect a better level of attitude from the staff too. However,

The standard of the food surprised me as it has improved significantly from my previous visit few years ago! The restaurant is very busy on a Sat evening, and the wait staff is not able to attend to us right away when called for. Overall still a very good dining experience for me.

We were hit by the sudden super-heavy downpour last night and we had outdoor seating BUT, the staff were very nice and did their best to find alternative for us (indoor seatings were all full). Offered us umbrellas at our table while they sort things out 😂 They moved a table to the building entrance and seated us there instead. They constantly checked on us and it was still an enjoyable dining experience for our group of 4! Natural disruption(heavy rain) was really nobody’s fault and they went out of their way for us.

Fantastic food. It was our first time there with the kids and we enjoyed all our dishes.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a while. Glad to have come and will definitely be back. Service was swift, friendly and efficient. One of the best caesar salads I have ever tasted, fresh salad leaves and avocado, just the right amount of dressing, crispy croutons and lardon strips. Tempura moriawase was on point, the Genovese pizza was thin crusted n packed full of flavour. The potato mentaiyako came piping hot and generously smothered with mentaiko cream and baked to a lovely gold hue with slightly charry edges. Definitely a gem and will he back soon!

Always very nice experience there. Staff are all very nice and friendly and super understanding for families with kids. We went out for 10 mins to watch the fireworks and the staff was totally fine and even helped us finished the cooking on the grill :) We’ve got the tatami table as a surprise tonight. Beer and steak was ok. All else was blah. The server left the raw squid beside me on the tepan table for an hour before cooking it. And then it was tough, under seasoned and triggered an allergy

Food always excellent. Business always bustling so service is slow and sometimes spotty, meaning they mistake your order, or they miss your order, or something you ordered is no longer available but no one comes to inform you. We always made reservations in advance so we had no issues with waiting times.

5th time to visit this restaurant. I always go with my 13-year old son but the staffs are always nice, so we feel at home. Price is a bit expensive, but for sure we will visit again as it is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants.

1st time here.. Nice place with nice food.. wanted to let my gal try the diy hot plate(teppanyaki) but no one to guide you how to do actually cook it, seems like it is only available on certain days but staff provided a QR guidance instead however it’s all wordings and not video Haa.. it’s actually very hot with the hot plate which wasn’t expected although the table is quite big. The table started to get cramped too after placing several dishes ard the hotplate since it is quite big. However staffs are all nice and friendly, everyone seems well trained with courtesy. Oh ya there are free food & drink for the kid too and sampling of free fish skin(but we were offer only fish skin while other tables was offer more dishes 😢, but probably cos we are the earliest since it opens at 530pm)
