Update 10 sept 2025 lunch. German themed buffet. Ok. But not really German. Pork knuckle and snail sausage not bad. Creamy spinach was good. I liked the cold prawns as usual. Kale was ok. Coffee was good. Chocolate ice cream was fine. Chinese mixed veggies nice. Red snapper fish was ok. Not quite to my expectations: roast lamb, roast chicken, various cooked prawn dishes- all used the tasteless frozen peeled prawns, tempura prawn, pork schnitzel—hard. Malay sambal prawn also had a strange sauce. Not to my liking. Desserts were “ok”. All a bit middle class style, as opposed to high class desserts. For example, the chocolate used is not the best chocolate couverture, but probably some compound chocolate. Also I didn’t notice any German cake at all. Only an attempt at Linzer Torte. Fresh fruits were fine. But I do like this Resto. Spacious and pleasant environment. High ceilings. And since the selection is a bit limited, I also tend not to over-indulge. Great friendly service from Sally and her colleagues.

Dinner on Thu 31/7. The MSW durians were good enough for me. I do eat durians but I am no connoisseur. They were surprisingly generous with the servings. I was glad to be able to taste bitter sweet, creamy. As well as some a bit alcoholic. And a couple of “dry” seeds. And also a couple of watery seeds. A good experience. We sit at tables outside to eat the durian. Next to the river. Very pleasant. The actual food buffet inside, was usual. Some dishes durian-infused. But nothing particularly special. I liked the roast beef. The lamb was ok too. Laksa was not to my liking. I had the durian first. So I guess I was already quite full. Haha.

Service was excellent but food was sadly below expectations for what was supposed to be a limited edition sakura theme buffet.. We had expected more variety and higher quality, instead some expected Japanese dishes were conspicuously missing and some dishes did not feel quite authentic (eg the oden). We had enjoyed some previous buffets here but this time was a bit of a miss..

Sakura spread was decent but not great. The tempuras are good but most other cooked dishes are like premade cp stuff covered with thick sauce. Would be better if they offer more decent cooked dishes and the oyster stall is designed to be slow like wat

Repeat visit. I like the Sakura theme buffet. Get return vouchers so will visit again.

Service was quick and efficient. However there were not much variety in the food options and there was quite a long queue for some of the options.

Repeat visits. Worth for the paid with the 1-for-1 promotion.

It was ok experience. Friday dinner on 20/1/2025 was priced at $108++ per pax. Some may be getting a discount. 1. There were oysters and snow crab. The snow crabs were not the super salty kind. 2. There was dry and tasteless beef Wellington. And interesting lamb ribs in cha siew sauce. My first rib was yummy. The was poor, almost no marinade. So strange that there was such inconsistency. 3. There was a pen chai. Didn’t taste particularly special. The prawns and dried scallop bits were very bland. 4. Tandoori fish was much better than the Chinese fish soup. 5. Desserts were on the less extravagant side. Usual poor quality ice cream. 6. Sashimi was ok. 7. It was very crowded. 8. Service was patchy. Sayed and Harwind were very good. But most other service staff didn’t seem “happy” to be working here. Not sure why. 9. They gave us a nice little birthday cake. Which I appreciate. 10. Oh. I quite liked the chicken satay too.

Went there for weekday dinner buffet. Variety OK for the paid.

Service was great and so was the food quality. However, I was very disappointed that the hotel cancelled the durian promotion which they had advertised heavily without prior notice. That was really bad form.

Food Capital is hands down the best-in-class buffet in Singapore! The spread is always very generous and the quality is top notch for its price range. They also run frequent promos for their loyalty program members, making each visit a terrific value. Service is also really good, the staff are very friendly and attentive.

Probably the best buffet in Singapore in terms of value. Food was really well done for the price point and service was efficient and courteous. Absolutely recommended!

Food spread is a bit disappointing , not a lot of varieties available. They also don’t have chilled drinks or juices. Service is good though.

Food was okay, some hits & misses. The various counters were pretty understaffed though so there was a bit of a wait/might get the wrong order sometimes too

not sure if it's because of the covid situation, but realised the food selection is limited this time around. Nothing much for the kids in terms of main dish... been going to Food Capital on a yearly basis for New Year's eve dinner.. so so only this time around.

Small spread but decent enough for the price I guess. Restaurant was crowded perhaps because of the promotions and thus the jostled dining experience, homemade ice cream was commendable, else the rest weren’t impressionable.

Reached around 11.45am but was told that restaurant was not ready yet. Prompt service, food was always replenished timely.

Booked a table for cohesion and was impressed with the food variety offered for buffet. Food was good and constantly replenished. Seafood were fresh as well. Recommended!

Good food and service. The staff replenishes food regularly and are prompt in clearing the plates. My favorite is the laksa and tempura. Look out for promos where they have one for one offers.

Easy access layout but some food items like chili crab and snow crab that are present in the past are no longer available.

Food selection is limited., not much choices for the price they are charging. The worst experience was from the sashimi chef, or rather the grouchy man who cuts the sashimi. He is very stingy with his portions. The sashimi slices are pathetic. Most diners were unhappy. He also does his work grudgingly. If a diner asks for more, he pulls a even longer face. My friend asked for a double portion, and thanked him for it but he jeered her by imitating her “thank you” to a co-worker behind her back. Why did he have to humiliate diners who are paying over $75 for this meal? I’m sure other diners had the same treatment from him. I wish the management would review his horrendous work attitude. The only saving grace is the efficiency of the waiting staff. They are very quick in clearing the plates. Overall, my friends and I WILL NOT come back to this restaurant.

Good variety of food at a reasonable price point. The seafood is fresh and desserts are good. My fav are the tempura station and the freshly made waffles station. Tea and coffee come complimentary as well. The staff are friendly and service is efficient.

The quality of food is not worth. Very slow to replenish. Wonder what the crowd finds at that buffet. Used to be good quality food

Overall food was satisfactory, usual buffet standard. The Sushi counter ran out of Tuna at about 7.20pm. and white fish about 15 mins later The Tempura counter was very slow, you had to wait about 5 mins for replenishment of ebi and had only 1 fried vege Oysters were replenished about every 1/2 hour So not worth it if you paid full price or like Japanese food

Not worth all cheap stuff for $100 per pax. Satay very very slow and beef tough. No bbq even. Very very crowded and arrangement of food very cramp and everyone walking on another

The waitress took some time to locate our reservation. The manager and waitress at the entrance openly showed their anxiety while assigning seats and spoke impatiently with each other, which made them look really unprofessional. Even though it wasnt crowded, the waitress/manager messed up the seating - after we were assigned a table and went to get our food, we came back only to find that our table was taken by 2 new customers. Seafood was good with fresh oysters, snow shell crab and lobsters, although lobsters ran out by 8.30pm and werent refilled thereafter. Non seafood lovers may not have anything much to eat as non seafood dishes tasted so-so.

The buffet food was good. Only issue was how slow or unwilling the oyster and sashimi stations were to top up the food. Not helped that both of the people in charge looked unhappy.

Food was good, just that not a lot of varieties. Service was fast. The chicken rice is amazing! Will not mind to revisit. Ambience was good too.

The buffet spread is limit. Sashimi has only 2 types. There is no freah seafood except scallops, crab and prawns. All of us had diarrhoea and one of my children vomitted after the dinner which we suspected was due to the scallops. We are quite disppointed especially over the spread.

Service was good, and empty plates were cleared promptly. Food selection was a bit disappointing... nothing really stood out. Not the sushi counter, or the cold seafood selection. The rest of the cooked dishes were so so. All in all, it was an ok experience, not spectacular. A little disappointing because of all the rave reviews, I'd expected a more uplifting experience.

The food variety is limited . No more bbq seafood as in cafe brios. Missed the durian puff . The dessert was very limited compared to other cafe

An affordable buffet with snow crab and oysters and decided to try this place after reading good reviews from google. Nice ambience and good service.
