Dashi Master Marusaya

Food was nice and authentic. The price is reasonable. They focus on the Dashi and use additive‐free Dashi. The staff is friendly and well trained.

Food is great, service is attentive and everything proved just right. Private room for business conversations is also a hidden gem. One of my favorite places in Singapore.

The food is excellent. In additon, the price is relatively reasonable. But there is a problem with air conditioner. We felt very hot in the restaurant.

Service was attentive and prompt. Was given a private room when I booked even though I did not request for it. Food was very good, not the typical Japanese fare you get at most restaurants.

As always enjoyed the food and iy is quite quiet during Lunch times. Hopefully more set menus for lunch can be introduced. Staff can be a bit more attentive too

Food was authentic and good. Well worth the trip as I have been looking for a Japanese restaurant with good dashi. We had the lunch sets, which were great value for money for the quality and quantity of the food. I had the Tendon set @ $22++ which came with 3 prawns! The pickles were made traditionally but was a little too strong for 2 of us. We would return again in future for more dashi goodness.

There were only two other people at the restaurant for lunch and they were in a private room. However, unlike many other restaurants we were not rushed through with the staff giving us too much attention and the kitchen rushing through our order. The food was really good, I had the tempura udon set which included a number of side dishes. I would return and recommend it to others.

The wagyu beef shabu shabu was good quality. The dashi soup base was very flavorful as well. Overall the dining experience was pleasant. Only spoiled by warm dining room due to Air-conditioning not functioning well.

Good food..good service..reasonable price..frenli and helpful staff.. wagyu quality is good when we had the shabu shabu party dinner set. Longer time for drink all you can would be better.

Service was generally attentive although we did have to cancel and order of cold soba as it took too long to arrive and we almost finished eating all the other dishes. Food is good and the dashi stock is the star.

The place was quiet n cozy. We have enjoyed our night there. Food was ok. We like the fresh n light taste. Won't be too strong.

I was there the second time with my family. The food are indeed very good but the service not up to par. Even when we told them about the problem, nothing has been done. We have to tell them again then only we get what we want. Very disappointed that they don't know how to keep their customer.

Good food, and excellent service although our order was not keyed into the system and we waited for half an hour before asking the crew what happened to our order. Service remedy was applied immediately.

Great food and attentive service staff! Will definitely be back for more. Tried the wagyu beef shabu shabu and it was very simply and wholesome. Highly recommended!

Good food! I reserved seats for Sunday lunch and the restaurant was not crowded so I didn't actually need a reservation in the first place!

Always love this place.. The clear sweet broth, naturally sweet. Feels healthy eating there. Loved the other food too. The dashi tamago was awesome, so was the rice cake, eggplant and mushrooms claypot.

Food standards were so so, service standards can be improved upon. My first experience there for food was much better. Do not order the dried cuttlefish, it was super dry and chewy.

Great variety of food quite reasonably priced. Service was a little slow as an order for chawanmushi and coke took a long time. Food was excellent and overall enjoyed the evening.

staff were attentive, variety of food, portion was generous. Tried the chirachi set which comes with a choice of cold or hot udon which one can upsize for free. Love their bonito flakes

Excellent food, well priced, great service, super tasty and light, will be back! we had the beef set with also either udon or rice and a lovely chawanmushi.

Food was mediocre, I was there for lunch and had 2 lunch sets - Iberico pork loin shabu shabu & tempura don and udon, plus a saba shioyaki. The saba shioyaki tasted horrible and not fresh at all! The food was really quite disappointing, had much better and authentic Japanese food elsewhere.

Exceptional service. Authentic Japanese food. Truly worth a visit. Restaurant wasn't very full on a Sunday evening. The dashi stock steamboat is something that you can't find in most upscale Japanese restaurants in town. A hidden gem tucked by the quay indeed.

One of my favorite jap restaurants of all time. Never fails me with every dish and I make an effort to order different things each time. Great service and high quality ingredients.

The beef tendon is a must try and sashimi is very fresh. We tried the shabu Shabu, while the broth is tasty and the vegetables are very fresh, the Pork has a pretty strong "porky" taste which we didn't like. Service is a bit slow even though it wasn't full house otherwise pleasant.

Great Dashi soup and chewy udon noodles that are made in house by the restaurant, nice and quiet atmosphere for dinner or lunch. The agu pork and beef were awesome!

The lunch sets were value for money and service was pleasant and polite. My only gripe is the price of the green tea which was really expensive but otherwise I foresee myself returning!

Quite a cosy restaurant with weak air-condition. The food is quite good especially the dashi stock of shabu shabu hotpot. Portion is smaller than we expected.

The Excellent Japanese soup stock makes all the dishes here so high quality. On top katsuobushi here can be much superior than the ones in Japan!!

Food is good. The staffs are mainly Japanese and communication over the phone might be a problem as the direction on the map wasn't clear.

Service and food were excellent.defnitely re-visiting again.Ambience was very ideal for a great n special evening too. The gindara n tempura were both simply awesome. Miso soup n rice were out of this world too.

Interesting Japanese place that serves up a more interesting range of dishes than the usual. We enjoyed the dashi broth for our noodles. Look out for chef's specials which usually have really good offerings.

Went there again the next evening. Can't get enough of the Wafudashi pasta - it is that addictive. Service again was good. In all, I am a very happy customer!

Great restaurant, even better ambience and superb lunch set. We had the tempura lunch set and the fish udon lunch set. Both are superb, the tempura is light and crispy and the fish fresh. The udon did not disappoint as well. The staff were attentive and they were able to make solid recommendations. Will definitely visit again soon.

I really enjoyed the food here. Most memorable one is the house specialty - Wafudashi pasta. Every bite was a pleasure! Range of sakes is also wide and reasonably priced. Vani, who served us, provided impeccable service. I would definitely be back,

Great food. A different take on the usual Japanese fare. Pure, clean tastes, well executed, from the fishballs in the noodles to the mushroom tempura, it was all fab!

Food was delicious and service was great. Highly recommend shabu shabu, gyusuji daikon stew and dashi tamago. Will definitely come back again to try the set lunches too.

Food was good as always. But service could be better. The manager gave us a condescending look when we asked for certain thing which she shouldn't. Otherwise, love the food. We had sukiyaki udon, tempura, the wafudashi pasta and the yaki nori to itawasa. Love everything

I ordered some alacart dishes for lunch and I love all the dishes especially Udon noodle, Dashinaki-tamago, and Tempura. I want to try a lunch set next time.

2nd time here and the food & experience were just as gd as my 1st visit. Absolutely loved their tamago (so flavourful, moist & fluffy) and Wafudashi Pasta (the soup was so rich with umami and the capellini itself was very flavourful on its own). Will be back to try their other items!!

The stock is really flavorful. Highly recommended. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The portion is a bit small but that allows 1 to order more variety.

Generally great experience: attentive waiters, good food and quick service. I end up paying for the table next to mine, lucky prices weren't too different.

We were recommended to have their set lunch. We ordered 5 of their 7 set lunches and had some appetitisers. The mains did not taste as good as the appetitisers.
