Fabulous authentic french food. Beautifully cooked - fois gras terrine a must, lobster ravioli good too. Dover sole cooked perfectly, mussels also melt in the mouth. Cheese selection good; pavlova disappointing - all cream hardly any meringue or pineapple. Wine selection good, but over-priced (even for Singapore) particularly given it's a bar as well as having a food focus. Overall would go back just for the food .
Perfect food, good service, good drinks Overall a very good experience, will def come back again- went there for lunch, will come back to try dinner.!
excellent Omakase lunch today as usual. Great variety, from starter to the mains and desserts. Definitely a place for comfort french food. wonderful taste and value.
Loving not just the food but the weather ambience is wonderful as well.
The omakase was exceptional. Mussels were the freshest I've had. I was a big fan of the wagyu as well. Service was excellent too. Really good modern french cuisine.
disappointed with the service. we specifically told the waiter it's my friend's birthday yesterday and asked if they could have a surprise for her, he said sure but when we were done with our meal, the "birthday surprise" wasn't here at all so we ordered our own cake to celebrate for her. he came back with another small cake with the words Happy Birthday written on it but without any candle, neither did he even wish my friend happy birthday. he just placed the cake on the table and left and I had to ask him for a candle. We thought at the very least he should have wished my friend happy birthday. Food was mediocre, we wouldn't pay this price for this kind of standard - food + service.
Another good lunch experience. Ingredients were fresh and the perfect use of herbs for the dishes. The lemon tart was perfect, not too sweet. Delicious. Booking is necessary to get a better table.
This was the second time we went to this excellent unpretentious restaurant and we were again very satisfied: the food has its base in Southern French cuisine, but with inventive twists from all over the Mediterranean. e.g. the baked John Dory comes with a black ink risotto Venetian style and with delicate Spanish chorizo and tomato chutney. The sommelier has good pairing recommendations with lesser known French wines, even by the glass, and the service is very friendly and professional. We will definitely come back...
Visited with an old friend from London and we had an excellent steak and wine. The restaurant was a bit quiet at the late hour we entered but the staff were attentive
Excellent restaurant. I had the omakase set, which was stellar. In terms of constructive criticism I would say we could have been offered and served our first drinks quicker. Otherwise service was good. Highly recommended and we'll be back again.
Lovely restaurant with spectacular food. We allowed the chef to choose for us and we were not disappointed! What a find! This is my new favorite restaurant!
Excellent food, very friendly and happy staff, cosy ambience. The chef came out to say hello at the end, which shows professionalism, pride in his work, and the importance of guest satisfaction. Well done. One of the only restaurants in singapore we can't fault.
Excellent food with a really beautiful presebtation. Nice and friendly ambiance with the Chef coming to you table. We had and excellent dinner experience. Highly recommended!!
Product quality was outstanding (tomato and beef), taste and temperature were perfect (beef and potato gratin), tasty yet subtle traditional cuisine. Combined with an honest wine list, attentive and knowledgeable service team, all these ingredients made for a very enjoyable meal. My favorite French restaurant in Singapore.
One of my all time favorite place at the heart of CBD. Chef Francois has always something special to surprise you. Portions are generous and staff is friendly and knowlegeable... highly recommended
the food was good, the restaurant manager was very nice, however it was super noisy hence it was difficult to hear each other. we will try during the week time!
The communal dishes like the pork Joel and the Mediterranean sotong were nice and the service was good. As for the entree I think the fish dishes look tastier.
Great food especially the pork jowl and sotong. A must try! Reasonable pricing and quality food. Nice warm bread with salted butter for a good start.
Great restaurant. Food quality is consistent and very attentive service staff. Chef will personally come out to give you suggestions depending on your group size. Highly recommended.
enjoyable and delicious food value for money. great ambience and will definitely bring friends along. will recommend to friends and colleagues to come for the great food.
Wife had the Bouillabaisse with Scorpion Fish, Cod, Prawns and Rouille. Was almost like the one we had in France. However, the cheese and bread was missing, which was meant to pair with the rouille. The only gripe is that the soup was not kept warm and the plate was too shallow and unable to warm up the fish and prawn which was a bit too cool when served.
Food was great! The service was fantastic and the chef took time to explain/recommend the specials which were simply heavenly! Will definitely visit again soon!
Service and food was good. Foie gras terrine and Sakura bei pasta was one of the best, pork jowl was a little drier than expected. Wagyu striploin, Royal cheese ravioli was good too.
Ordered the bacalao croquette, rabbit leg & wagyu sirloin. Rabbit leg was well marinated but meat was tough. Overall well executed dishes but lacks excitement.
Lovely Southern French food in an enjoyable setting, without any false pretenses. The ceviche as a starter was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the Bouillabaisse too. Friendly service and reasonable prices combined with high quality food. They don't claim to be fine dining or high-end gastronomy, but they surprise to the positive... Will definitely come back
It was a great culinary experience. We had the omakase course. Each dish was executed very well, especially the pork jowl. The meat was tasty and tender, much like our local cha siew. Service was also attentive. I would have given them full rating if the service staff were more familiar with the ingredients in each dish. They need a bit more training on how to explain the cooking style and type of spices and herbs used. It was quite obvious that they were just memorising the technical terms, because when we queried them further on what they meant, they were unable to explain them in lay man terms. But the quality of cooking more than make up for this minor weakness.
We went for dinner and had a fantastic time: Great food and very good wine list. very friendly service as well. Very keen to try their lunch set soon.
We had the "Menja I Calla" omakase-style dinner and we had more than enough to eat. The communal sharing plates were the stars - meltingly tender pork jowl, tasty pata negra jamón ibérico, crunchy bacalao accras with fiery nahm jihm, al dente fregola with sotong. Chef Francois makes sure his customers are happy, and corrected things personally when there was a miscommunication between the waitstaff and the kitchen about one of my friends' allergies. Whereas the cuisine is inventive, we found the desserts uninspiring, undifferentiated, and a letdown from the standard of the cuisine. A good pastry chef with a palate and sophistication to match Chef Francois' is needed here, soon. The wine list is commendable, with a good selection from the south of France, especially Languedoc-Rousillon, under S$100, although my first white wines choices (Dom Vacheron from Sancerre, Patrick Piuze from Chablis) were sold out when we were there.
Very good service and ample food recommendations from the waiting staff. Restaurant owner Francois also came to check on the customers with his warm smiles. Food is fresh and delectable. Atmosphere is casual yet non-rowdy.
Quality of food was good, service was excellent but the air conditioning was warm and this obviously put a dent in our overall dinner experience.
This was my first visit to Bar à Thym for lunch after going there for dinner twice. Their lunch set is very good value. The besides wagyu beef cheek was excellent in particular.
Food was good service was bad. Our reservation at 7pm and we were early and reach by 6.30pm. Wasn't welcoming when we reach and during dinner, staff wasn't attentive at all. The restaurant wasn't crowded when we were at the last Friday. Only 3 tables for Friday night!
Omakase dinner was excellent - delicious and well worth the price. We loved the warm and attentive service, and lovely ambience. We'll definitely be back!
Very tasty food, perfectly prepared and presented, relative to the pricing (lunch set menu at SGD 38), combined with some reasonably priced wines made it an extremely pleasant dining experience. Friendly and effective service, good atmosphere and convenient location: all is set to make Bar A Thym a great success.
friendly staff, great wine and food. would definitley go there again with friends/business partners. would've been better if airconditioner was a bit stronger but overall very good experience.
Awesome food! Every meal is so good and presentation is amazing. Would definitely go back. The chef has very good PR, which makes us feel welcome! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great food, very nice service... everyone was taking good care of us and we enjoyed a very nice evening. Was nice that even the chef came to every table to have a quick chat. We'll definitly come back :)
Excellent food and service. We ordered the braised pork belly and it was so good we ordered it again. I recognized the staff and chef from Absinthe and what a team!
Fantastic food, great service with a smile from Head Chef Francois! Highly recommend the Omakase menu. I look forward to returning in the near future.
I had not been to Bar a Thym for a few months. I found a new menu with a larger choice of deserts. I tried the chocolare mousse, which was nice. Overall, great lunch, friendly service and good value.
Lovely restaurant. I like that the ingredients used in the food is fresh and the food is delicately prepared. Every dish is tantalising and I must also commend on the excellent service from the waiter. I did not tell him I am celebrating a friend's birthday but casually mentioned when I am ordering the bubbly and he came back with a birthday dessert.
Unpretentious & delicious food that's well executed by chef Francois. We left it to him to design the menu and really enjoyed our meal. Service is casual but could be one notch better to make the entire experience a "6".
The food is always good here. Chef Francois delivers every time. It's a very unpretentious and laid back environment. Food and smiles aways puts this place on top.
Delicious original food with some sharing plates. Francois changes the menu regularly and his southern style cuisine is much more interesting than a lot of other French restaurants in Singapore. Excellent service too.
Very good food. More attention could be paid to some detail (for example, I'm sure a better range of Dover Sole could be sourced; and the plating could be more imaginative), but otherwise this is a really good effort at a French "adresse"!
The food was excellent, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality and effort they put in. I overheard another table saying 'never expected the food to be that good'. Will definitely come back again.
The food was on point, highly executed with a South East Asian twist
That was just perfect! Chef is very professional and finds the time to share few words with you. Prices are worth what tou have in your plates.
The ingredients used are fresh and some are seasonal. Sat at the chef counter and watched the food being cooked and served was one of a kind experience. The chefs are friendly and generous in sharing cooking tips. Small free bits and shots were served to us through the night. The desserts are tasty. The chocolate is right sweetNess. The sorbets simply amazing after a hearty meal. The macrons were sticky, chewy and spongy. Best macron eaten so far. The service crew was attentive and friendly. One of them even open the door when l about to enter the restroom.
Brilliantly sublime restaurant, with the best French food I have tasted in years (including Paris itself). The menu offers several of the French classic dishes but in addition the Catalan mix to the cooking/range really offers many unique mouthwatering options.
