Locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to great Japanese cuisine in Singapore, but there’s nowhere else in town dishing it out quite like Sakagura Dining Sake Bar. Found down Alexandra Road, this restaurant and watering hole is famous for its many sake varieties alongside an impressive menu of authentic Japanese sushi, mains and bar snacks. With minimalist Japanese decor and dishes that are almost too stunning to eat, Sakagura offers a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Be sure to book ahead when planning to dine at this Alexandra hotspot.
their menu has quite a variety of choices. We had 2 chawanmushi, chirashi don, seafood fried rice, garlic ribeye and a bento set. We spent a total of $90. Quality of food is good, fresh and delicious! The space is rather cramp though. But we didn't mind that much. Staffs were friendly and service was prompt. We didn't hear about this place before but got to know it through Groupon. A good place to visit for first timers!
Absolutely delightful and decently priced food at net prices. The Salmon Donburi at $10 net was definitely a value buy, with fresh salmon sashimi and salmon roe placed atop nicely seasoned white japanese rice which was at just the right temperature (unlike other places that serves sashimi on top of hot rice). Other items we had were the Ikura Chawanmushi, Aburi Makimono and Soft Shell Crab which did not disappoint. Will definitely return to this place someday.
Step into another place and time at Sakagura Dining Sake Bar, a calm oasis that’s found right in the hustle and bustle of busy Alexandra Road. The sake selection alone is one of the best in all of Singapore, and offers diners a plethora or flavours ranging from tart to incredibly sweet. In addition to a selection of sake, Sakagura also offers several imported Japanese beers, plum wines, cocktails and more to quench your thirst.
Just down the road from Alexandra Hospital, Sakagura Dining Sake Bar is one of the city-state’s most trusted locations for fine Japanese food and drink. Take the sushi route at this Singapore favourite and you won’t be disappointed – the maki, sashimi, and makimono are all hugely popular at this sleek restaurant. If you’re looking for something a bit more substantial, the tonkatsu curry is a popular option, while noodle lovers can’t quit raving about the curry udon with chicken and the ten zaru soba with tempura. It’s all fresh and delicious at Sakagura, so make sure to stop in often to see what’s new!
