More about the restaurant: Sacha & Sons

We’ve all dreamt of the classic New York deli experience, and now Sacha & Sons have succeeded in bringing it to the heart of Singapore. Located at Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road, just a few minutes away from Somerset and Orchard MRT stations, Sacha & Sons is Singapore’s first authentic New York delicatessen serving the freshest bagels and the best pastrami we know of. There’s much else, of course, and Sacha & Sons Singapore has a deli counter to display their homemade sides, salads and sandwiches as well as chalkboard menus flanking the walls to display rotating specials. As well as all that, the vibe and atmosphere inside Sacha & Sons Singapore is cosy and one that’ll keep you returning again and again. Reserve a table now.

Thinking about making a Sacha & Sons booking?

There’s little not to love about Sacha & Sons Singapore. It’s family-run and really does know who it is and what it’s about, which is, of course, an authentic New York deli experience with no corners cut. In Somerset, at Mandarin Gallery on Orchard Road, the vibe of the place as well as the rather homey-feeling decor makes you want to sit and chill for hours, and the authenticity even transfers as far as the traditional deli garb worn by the staff. In terms of food, the Sacha & Sons menu has taken American, Russian and Jewish influences (do note that Sacha & Sons isn’t kosher) and makes use of a list of family recipes as long as your arm.

Sacha & Sons Singapore specialises in corned beef, roast beef and a selection of smoked fish, as well as the main attraction, beef pastrami, the curing process for which took over a year to perfect. Sacha & Sons won’t mind us revealing the secret: covered in a special rub, the meat is cooked for hours and then steamed on site in custom-made steamers so the colour, flavour, texture and temperature are perfect before it’s hand carved and served straight away. If you’re not feeling particularly meaty, this Orchard Road New York deli also has soups, sandwiches, salads, latkes, reubens, cakes, eggs, sharing platters and some damn fine coffee. It’s worth a visit no matter where you are in Singapore.
