With humble beginnings which took root on the offshore island of Pulau Ubin, New Ubin Seafood has come a long way to establish itself as one of Singapore’s leading seafood joints, well-loved for its crustacean delights freshly plucked from the sea. Not only that, this Bukit Batok gem boasts a wide array of complementary dishes ranging in meat, veggies, rice and noodle dishes and even desserts. Fans of New Ubin Seafood don’t even mind that the restaurant is hidden from plain sight in an industrial building on Hillview Road – they travel from all corners of the island to descend here for a high-quality feast at affordable prices. Your friends and family will love this one, so book early to avoid disappointment.
New Ubin Seafood is a bit of a misnomer because contrary to what its name suggests, this restaurant is nowhere to be found on the offshore island of Pulau Ubin. Instead, it is tucked away in the residential district of Bukit Batok, on the sixth storey of Lam Soon Industrial Building on Hillview Road. Not that its loyal fans mind, of course, since the seafood served here is among the freshest you’ll find in Singapore – and with a far wider variety than you would expect.
Like most of its clientele, a visit to New Ubin Seafood might start off as the answer to a chilli crab or black pepper crab fix, but what usually ends up on the table is a host of complementary dishes that includes oatmeal tiger prawns, stir-fried kang kong and smoked pork fried rice – to name a few. Whether you’re hungry for the familiar wok hei taste of local tze char fare, the piquant notes of South Indian cooking or mouthwateringly tender cuts of meat prepared in a European style, New Ubin Seafood does a straight-up amazing job at them all, leaving you with no doubt about the restaurant’s popularity after decades in business. Don’t be left in the dark; get down to New Ubin Seafood to find out why Singaporeans travel far and wide to this Bukit Batok gem for the finest catch from sea and land. Reserve ahead for the best seats.
Food was very delicious, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Must order dishes are the beef cubes done in medium rare and crabs (choose the 800 grams ones!) done in garlic and black pepper styles.
There is a always never a disappointment when You dine in ubin . First Experience in new ubin place . Looks and feel rustic . Great
While the staff may be polite and courteous, a trained restaurant manager experience in dining service would be of great help given the amount of diner
The staff initially gave us a table in the air conditioned room, which would be nice in a hot day. But there like this smell inside. Since the weather is nice, we asked for a table outside and they kindly obliged. They recommended the fish head steamboat as some other guest already pre ordered. Not bad. Chili crab was good! Lovely time we had there, not too many people.
Food was great especially angus beef and chillie crab. Staffs were able to change my reservation from lunch to dinner time and at the same time make recommendation to reserve special promo in their durian cream brûlée.
Food was good but wish there is smaller portion for beef for 2 pax thereby having room for other food or desserts. Luckily the waiter cautioned us not to order too much
Perhaps the best seafood at this price in Singapore. the restaurant is a little difficult to locate in the industrial building, but it is well worth the effort. A must try.
The restaurant is a bit difficult to locate, situated inside an industrial building. Food is ok, I think the standard has dropped a fair bit since the move but still acceptable. Service is excellent and staff is attentive.
The Angus beef was really good but the portion (600g) w fried rice was alittle too huge for two. We couldn't order other dishes on the menu.
Great food and service. Good value. Great for fanily and Friend celebrations or just family outings. They can cater to large crowds. Definitely recommend to friends
