Chinese restaurants in Singapore come in many forms, and whether your tastes are towards the starched tablecloths and white shirts of the Downtown Core, the traditional tea houses and dim sum palaces of Chinatown or the countless hawker centre options that dot the city, you’re sure to be able to find something that suits your palate. Lao Ban Niang Restaurant might fall more into the latter than the former, with a location in the Madame Low Eating House on Joo Chiat Road and a menu that includes all your favourite Chinese pick me ups. Seafood fans will go for the steamboats, the curry fish head, the sambal prawn or the Hong Kong style red grouper, whereas meat lovers can try sweet and sour pork, black pepper beef, claypot mutton and even hot plate venison. Veggies are well catered for too, with egg, bean curd and tofu dishes to devour all over the menu, so whatever the composition of your dining party, you’ll be sorted at Lao Ban Niang Restaurant on Joo Chiat Road in Marine Parade.
